  2. I’ve learned varying who works on my airplane a little is a good thing. It has been maintained for well over 30 years by the same A&P (1.5 hour flight away)and he has done a great job. I bought it 6 years ago from a family friend and after a couple years and annuals, decided to get a second opinion on it and gather some information for my own knowledge. I took it to an MSC and had the donuts replaced. Later that year I had them do the annual to get their opinions on the plane and recommendations on maintaining and improving it. My A&P actually encouraged me to get a second set of eyes on it to see if anything had been overlooked. They found it in very good condition and well cared for, reinforcing my view of my A&P and my decision to keep using my A&P off in the distance. They also gave me very good information on things to look out for from a Mooney specialist view point and answered questions I’d amassed and needed explanations for. I’ve had issues with my local shop trying to solve anything much more involved than oil changes. They are good people trying hard, but just don’t seem to get that Mooneys aren’t the same as the Cessnas they usually work on. If you find a good A&P, stick with them and don’t be afraid to let second set of eyes see the plane periodically. I dread the day when he retires...
  3. From what I’ve been told, if you aren’t finding any metal in your oil filter or pressure screen where the oil filter adapter would mount, you probably won’t find any in the lower coarse screen at #7. Because it is coarser(larger holes), if you have chunks large enough to be caught in there, your filter would have smaller metal in it too.
  4. Here is my 67C model with the G5‘S side by side.
  5. Does it need an outside antenna to receive a signal or is there a built in one that is sufficient?
  6. Hi Jonny, Looking forward to the new direction you are going with Mooney and wish you the best of luck for all us Mooney drivers. Any suggestions you have for how we can help are welcome. Dan
  7. Sorry, no. 2nm/1,000ft Windmilling 2.5nm/1,000ft Low Rpm setting
  8. My 67C Owners Manual has the same chart. Windmilling 2:1 as mentioned, Prop at low RPM setting, 2.5:1 glide ratio.
  9. Looks like a good idea. Need to replace my 2g Switchbox sometime and would be interested to hear what some of this weeks recipients think after they use them a while. Thanks!!
  10. My manual actually refers to it, I just forget to find it when I crawl under there for other things. Need a reason to wedge my head and shoulders down there to get the right viewing angle.(Insert upside down smiling emoji)
  11. Been trying to find that on mine. Thanks for the photo!
  12. Thanks Hector! Much appreciated!!
  13. Similar topic but I didn’t see it anywhere for a 1967 C model. My 1967 Mark 21 Ranger Owner Manual says rear seat can be removed, but it seems to be a fixed back and no releases. A&P doesn’t think my plane has removable rear seats. Anyone know if it was an option only and not standard or if there is a way to tell? Thanks for any help!
  14. Sorry Alan, I haven’t gotten back to this thread for a while, and never got a notification email of your post. If you are still interested in the MD40 how about $200. Had someone interested in the KLN94 too, but haven’t heard back yet. Would take $750 for the KLN94.
  15. Khedrei, $1499 US$ + shipping method of your choice for all of it. I have a KLN94 Manual and maybe some other odds and ends I will throw in as I find them too. Make an offer on individual parts if interested.
  16. I have a KLN 94 with tray, antenna and data loader port but no wiring harness. It would be a Slide in replacement for a KLN89B with color screen and IFR approach abilities. (SOLD). I also have the CDI for it available. It is a Mid-Continent MD40-232L, lateral only no vertical needle. (SOLD) i also have a Narco AR 850 blind encoder available if you don’t need ads-b out. All worked fine when removed for WAAS & ADS-B UPGRADES.
  17. 'Hi Alan, Are you looking to add more avionics to your inventory? I upgraded my M20C panel and have a KLN94, MIDCO CDI for it, the tray, antenna and data loader port. Would be a nice improvement for someone’s KLN89B. I also have a Narco AR-850 Altitude encoder. All worked well when it was removed. Let me know what you think and I can send you pix of all the spec’s and details on each. Thanks, Dan
  18. My 1967 C generator was giving me similar intermittent problems even with the new VR. The Plane Power Alternatir conversion has been a cure for most problems. Battery doesn't run down doing night landings at low RPM on the ground and in the pattern, radio static is gone, landing light on for safety during the day doesn't kill the battery inbound to land, and avionics don't run down the battery on long taxi In day or night. I'd highly recommend the $300-400 generator replacement cost be invested in the alternator conversion. My $.02.
  19. +1 Had to do this with my 67C and we flew it and marked the throttle shaft at 12" MP. It is right behind the instrument panel and easy to adjust. I think it took my AP about 10 minutes to adjust it.
