  1. From the album: 1967 M20 E

    1967 M20 E factory original paint
  2. Wow a 1967 F with original factory color. I have a 1967 E with the same color. Love it. Stuart Florida, you can fly all the time there. except today because Obama is playing golf !!!!!
  3. The other day , it was a warm 50 degrees and my flaps behaved totally different. The J bar gear did too. Extremely easy . . later that week it was 39 degrees F, and they were stiff again . that one 50 degree day was a quick summer but I liked it, but the plane felt different . carl
  4. red and black to match the exterior. you can alway change the exterior colors . thats my problem ,,..maybe blue-green to match the gas streaks .
  5. Can you sleep in a mooney? this one has curtains. does the back seat fold back so it would be comfortable?
  6. I flew my M20 out of the pattern for the first time . I have no meaningful information because I was too elated to really take it all in. I climbed to 5000 feet in just a few minutes WOW , a 120 mph climb speed, gear up, flap up . I remembered that , I set 25 squared till 5000. I have a green light on my digital tach at 2450 rpm so I left it there and came back to 24 Mp, or was it 23 Mp the airspeed was reading 170mph I did not do a WOT wide open throttle ,but I guess that will be the next flight. About theflight , I took off from altoona Pa and flew to Clairon Pa, a trip that takes me 2.5 hours driving, flying it took less than 35 minutes . My son goes to college there . what a perfect time machine the Mooney is . To the person who wants to buy a mooney. Do it . if you cant afford it you can sell it ., if you cant afford to fly that month , don't . From the movie the edge "" Never feel sorry for a man who owns a plane"" I feel sorry for the man who doesnt. Carl 10.6 total time in M20 E
  7. I think you should by it !
  8. I am a new pilot with a M20 E, I have 166 total hours to date. About 11 in the Mooney My insurance required some duel instruction in type. (M 20 E). I found Blue Ridge Aviation who has a M20 E for duel and i got my complex sign off from the instructor Nate Krobath. They are located in Hangar 3 at the Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport in Weyers Cave, VA. This is pretty close to Charlottesville.
  9. "Mooney actually issued a "mandatory" service bulletin a few years ago requiring their removal before flight. Ridiculous"...... I guess only more reason to pull them out . I wonder what was the issue ?
  10. hey, that's a Gulfstream !! I want the wing tips of the Aspire wow that picture got crazy big
  11. HA ha , 4 minutes gain over 40 hours!! ok, I'm pulling mine out. After all it is still all about the speed. good video buy the way.
  12. I'm in Altoona Pa , just got my plane , so i am looking
  13. "No one else wanted too? Huh?!" .... fly the blimp. Yeah crazy . I think there were 6 other people on board . The blimp pilot asked if anyone wanted to fly and I said sure. Everyone else was frozen in fear as he got out of his seat an said , ok take over . It really fly's itself. He asked several time , no other takers. It later crashed and burned up. so that blimps gone now.
  14. what about the kind that have the jack points and the tie down ring all in one. I'm thinking of getting them. Is the only purpose of removing them to increase speed ? I guess that is reason enough .
  15. Also looking for A&P who will work with me . I am in altoona Pa
  16. I don't fuel the right tank full , and that stopped the seepage. But if I seal the screws do I do it while there is fuel in the tank or should i drain it?
  17. awesome .Thats the look i want
  18. Awesome , I flew the Goodyear blimp, for an hour , no one else wanted to , awesome ,my exception to your statement "a bucket list flight" is I want to do it again!!! I'd bet you will take the tri-motor up again, next time it passes through.
  19. I've never flown above 14000 in a private plane .I once went to 6,500. I have a hard time believing they will go that high. exciting
  20. I had a basal cell carcinoma, tiny little dot of a skin cancer , caused by the sun. cut it out , piece of cake. by the rules, your medical is suspended until documentation is submitted and approved by someone in Oklahoma. I have a great Flight doc . He pulled some strings, contacted his friends, really took an active role. I was cleared in only three months. Even little things can ground you because of the wording.
  21. i am iced in .
  22. A static blockage would overread in a desent .
  23. there is a topic Seal tanks in the vintage section . lance casper gave a good answer on how it is repaired .
  24. I owned a Grumman traveler, I just got a 1967 M20 E Mine needs paint too. I want to do this myself (but won't) Nice looking Mooney!
