  1. You got a beautiful rocket Tankinbarber, the dash looks amazing, I have a rocket as well, but ways off before I can get a Aspen PFD and an upgrade to a newer JPI... Enjoy the speed, the altitude and the turbo kick, well worth it...
  2. I agree with others, in normal flights, it just an additional tool, but not one that I would base my decision solely on. It looks pretty...
  3. Clarence, would you please send it to me too, I think it would be handy by the way, how long and usually how much are the annuals on a M20K if you had to do it. My annual will be up in 5 months and I'm trying to find a shop I would have confidence in. Altough you are a bit far from me ( 2h flight ), I might be able to talk to my partner and see about the possibilities, provided you are interested in doing it. Thanks
  4. It would be nice if it was added to ForeFlight, since now I do my W&B trough that... and since I plan my flights using it, and it has all the airport information and conditions, it should be a big plus for the app to add this feature...
  5. Can you give me the contact info, I might use him for the seats... Thanks !!!
  6. Wow, members from Québec... bonjour tous le monde...
  7. Yeah Bruce has a good product and is on our choice of potentiel suppliers and installers. The thing that gets us is the exchange rate, since converting to Canadian dollars cost much more...
  8. I will post here some numbers when I get it from them.
  9. I understand, but there are alot of places for the seats, I'm looking specially for the sidewalls and headliners. Thanks !
  10. I'm looking seriously at Airtex, but my understanding is that they only do carpeting, not plastic or leather, is that so ? I would be immensely thankful if I can get close pictures of what your interior looks like and an idea of how much it costed, materiel and labor, although laber will probably be done by a local installler. Thanks so much !!!
  11. Hi, I'm finalizing my search on for a provider/installer for the complete redo of my M20K interior, including sidewalls, headliner, seats and carpet. I sent an email to Mooney corp asking if they would recommend a supplier, to my great surprise, they told me they produce a complete interrior kit for vintage models. It will look very much like a 2005 ovation interior, so should be good enough. I'm getting a quote from them now. I was wondering if anyone here has experience with buying the Mooney corp produced interior to refurbish their aircraft. Thanks !
  12. Check these ones out, they work great with audible alarm, and at 100$, they even have a usb wire finger holder for kids, so you can have the scanner on the the person's finger but the display is in front of you... It also saves the data to look at later... http://www.clinicalguard.com/oximeters-for-sale-p-89.html?osCsid=81cf9da6d3e9e151608df42f898fa25c
  13. From the album: My favorite co-pilot

My son is so used to flying now, that he often sleeps on long flights...
  14. Are there any plans to give this type of training in north-eastern US, I would love to attend, but Texas is quite a long trip where I'm from... Thanks for letting me know.
  15. Defintily doing that, one weekend where I don't have my son... As for TAS, I actually did the calculation, I was about 188 kts, so not too shabby at all... As for the 650, it was an add-on when I bought into the partnership, we installled the 650 and it costed alot. How was the 830, it looks very easy to read and get all the data at a glance, I would love to change my EDM 700 for a 830, but my partner is not willing to invest on this, instead, we have agreed to redo the interrior this year, so the 830 or even better 900 will have to wait a couple of years. I just hope weather clears up tomorrow, if not, well I will miss a day at work and have to stay here more, would'nt that be a shame...
  16. The second one has a beautifull face, but oh what a waste to have that body... well maybe some like it !!!!
  17. Did a quick flight today, Montreal to Boston in 1h14 air time (221 NM) according to Foreflight, with a GS as high as 217 Kts at 6500 feet... not too shabby at all for a 20 g/h, runnin 32 over 24... I did'nt lean too much since I wanted to get there fast and boy did it ever...
  18. To follow what others have said here, it is a big step to go from your PPL to a 180 knots cruise machine. I did it after 1 year of piloting a Beech sundowner and about 100h of experience on it. I can't imagine going from the C172 from my ppl time to a Mooney Rocket 180 to 200 kts right after... even after 150h on C172 and C23 Sundowner, insurance still asked for 15h of instructor time and 10h solo on the Mooney before fully insuring my passengers, but I'm in Canada, so it might be more relaxed in the states. Good luck, but I would recommand something a bit simpler before going to a high performance complexe Mooney just to be on the safe side.
  19. I also have an portable emergency oxygen tank with 2 masks that I bought at Aircraft Spruce, it's very simple to operate, put the mask on, pull the pin and you get maximum oxygene to get you back in shape and go down where you don't need it. The emergency system lasts about 20 minutes ( more than enough time to get down in a controlled manner ) and it is kind of idiot proof, since there is no adjusting it, just pull the pin... It's worth the 300$ to save one's life...
  20. I did the training and all and all, it took less than 1 hour for course and exam... pretty easy...
  21. Yeah but the position of the ashtray on the armrest of the sidewalls, dos'nt it shine in your eyes when you turn it on ?
