About time brother Seriously great to have you here Joe!
-
Bob, count on 3 months. Joe will say 2, but he is just simply busy. I tried to keep the end goal in mind. I wanted Best job I could afford. A little extra time was worth it. He will always answer the phone and he will send you pictures along the way. Wait till you see your plane with all new hardware and fresh paint it is amazing!
-
It is your paint scheme is tremendous. We used (I think) the same dark gray color.
-
That is sort of where I was going. I think that comment was really wrong with nothing to back it up. Joe is one of the nicest guys I have ever met, and his work is top notch. I don’t have “a dog in the fight”, so I hate to call B.S.? But I do.

My experience was just like yours as I live 2 hours away and work in Tampa 3 out of 4 weeks a month. I have seen at least 20 planes in Naples/Ft. Myers/Marco that have been painted by Hawk over the last 10 years or so and not one has had any issue? Joe is not fast it takes 3 months to get it done, but his work is second to none that I have seen? Not sure where this other poster has seen issues, but I sure have not? I tell you something else. Joe actually does the work, so I am pretty sure any issue he would stand behind. I already know Edison will have to reseal my tanks at some point in the future, and Joe has already said he will fix whatever gets messed up no worries at all. If you can come to Tampa I just don’t think he can be beat?
-
Joe, I believe, charges exactly the same.
-
Let me know when you take it Bob I will come up and show you mine maybe grab some lunch? It is a quick flight for me from Naples. You won’t be disappointed Joe is the best!
-
Bob, Take it to Joe I simply could not recommend him more. If you want come look at mine. It is impeccable and he will save you 3k.
-
Call Joe at Hawk in Tampa. He is tremendous and he will be under 12k. Full strip, all new hardware, and he does body work. There is no one in the country that does as good a job for the money. I have pics of the entire process as he did mine this last summer.

Great advice I know how you feel I have a J with sooooo many improvements that I will never get back. I never really think about it though. My J is every bit of like a cirrus and I have 1/4 of the cost of a new plane. Buying an airplane as an investment never was in the cards for me.

I have to say I just (repectfully) think your incorrect here. Recognition of a stalled condition can only come from actually experiencing it. 1 foot off the ground is not even close to the experience that we are trying to replicate. I am glad the FAA agrees with me and has stalls as part of each and every rating in our curriculum. I can be argued out of a full power on stall as I stated (to the horn is sufficient), but power off my students will learn how to do that as long as I am signing my “life” away with an enforcement.
-
As a CFI I really worry when I hear people not practicing stalls at all. When I am doing a BFR for anyone I for sure make them do at least a power off stall in a landing configuration. That is simply too important to not practice. You can argue that power on to the horn is a good opinion in our planes, but truly with enough altitude it is not that big a deal at least in my J?

I think mine is the nicest on the planet

I don’t know about all the slamming on the iPad. I went with just the 750 and 3 Aspens/G5. I am pretty sure my Aspens/G5 would hold a course long enough for me get down? As far as an approach I think iPad would work pretty well to non precision minimums? Anyone simply ask for a PAR? Second Nav/com (old King 155 works fine) for sure a must. Second GPS not as sold.
-
Adam Martz at global (ajuster) maybe one of the nicest guys I have ever dealt with. I did have a claim and they were tremendous. I would not ever take my business from them.
-
I won’t say anything bad about the “P” shop, but let’s just say I get all my help from J.D. at Southwest Texas Aviation. And my local A&P at KMKY (Hal Brannon) knows more about any airplane than I will ever know. Someone said “continuous” work on your plane, and that is totally correct.
-
Wow that is really tremendous. Very sharp! I have the stuff they sell at Lowe’s and it better than concrete, but nothing like that

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for a K? A friend of mine has a K that has a “back-up” alternator system that is failing. Problem is you don’t know the primary alternator is going out until the back up has failed. Trying to see if we can find the wiring information for it. Thanks for the Help! Mike

Could I be listed and have a link? Thanks! Mike

I have both AOA and SV, the Aspen has an altitude alert “alarm”. I am hoping someday to have a Garmin GNX 500 AP so that would be alititude preselect for me?
-
This subject has been beaten to death. Done sorry. There is nothing wrong with the way it was done and my shop has not done this as a first time. So I guessing Best to ask your own shop?
-
The G5 is technically primary. It has a back up battery (4 hour). Then the Aspen (also with back up battery) is my back up. There is a whole post on here about it. 337 takes care of it.

This the first, lady and only airplane I have ever owned. I️ have had my ticket for 31 years but never owned a plane until 3BD. She is simply the only plane I will ever own
-
Na it takes time, but if it is your “forever” Plane well worth it. Tell you something thought Tomlinson does just tremendous work and they are very fair with their prices.
