  1. I think the pressure relief is shared with others. The alt part for EQ6516 per Textron is 641074A1. This looks like mine on my TSIO360 (SB2B). Spruce has it in stock.
  2. I don't have a clue what the part numbers are, but I've got a set I bought to clean up for my C, but sold it before I got around to it.
  3. If any warnings or questions are on the bottom blue bar it won't work, clear those out first, then hold the two middle buttons down. It'll switch to a black screen with the tach and hobbs times in the middle.
  4. Yeah, I'm going to also try to get ahead of the curve and pick up one. I also noticed it left out the price -- perhaps because they're making a blanket statement 'all turbos'? The price will likely be different across the various models of clamps for the various manufacturers.
  5. Looks like there's an AD in the works for these failing. Here is the FAA article on it.
  6. I've got a 252 converted to an Encore in Lockhart you could go for a ride in. Will be back in August.
  7. It's just a simple toggle switch as David has said.
  8. They added provisions in the firmware for a physical switch about a year ago. It's installed on the panel so you can quickly switch between heading and GPSS. It's extremely beneficial.
  9. I just put in dual 275s and would suggest you do the following: 1) Ensure they install a GPSS switch for you 2) Ensure they install a manual failover switch 3) Get the 2nd battery for your HSI and ensure it can be an ADI failover. I believe the battery is required for this. 4) Keep a 106 (as did I) for the SL30. My HSI 275 can show me HSI/CDI from both of my GPSes with the 2nd GPS also outputting on the 106. I'm not sure if you'll be able to do that with a 430/SL30, but it might. I've forgotten the wiring diagrams at this point.
  10. haha "Don't screw up the stripes and I don't care" is what I overheard said to someone by the FBO owner.
  11. I've always used gojo hand cleaner and terry cloths. Make sure it doesn't have pumice! You gently rub it on and it all rubs right off. Depending how bad you let it get you'll need a couple towels because they'll get saturated quickly.
  12. I scanned the copy I received from Don for 25-1000 to 1199. Attached here so you can see what they include. Image_20220118_0001.pdf Image_20220118_0002.pdf
  13. The IPC from Continental is what I usually use.
  14. Make an account (FRN) here as an individual Log in here. You will need 'Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit' for you, lifetime. Plane needs a 'Radio Station Authorization', good for 10 years. I believe you can download both as PDFs immediately and print them out. They even say 'Official Copy' stamped across them. System is down for maintenance or I'd help you further.
  15. Wow... I was looking at the photos going "that looks like my drive to the airport". Sure enough... This is the second plane towed down that highway. We towed a Kingair from Lockhart to Lulling a year or so ago.
  16. I've had the [mis]fortune of having to do this a few times. I put a piece of flannel on some safety wire and doused it in fuel. I then put it between the seat and valve and rotated it a bit by hand. I repeated this cleaning a few times until it wasn't picking up any more valve grinding compound.
  17. It's a catch 22; however, as with anything, communication is key.
  18. Bingo. My 3 month lead time on an at most 3 week job turned into over a year wait and now going on 4 months of downtime now.
  19. I think it's fair to pay the parts up front. Labor -- this is where it gets more nuanced. Up to half I'd be okay with. Do yourself a favor and add in a completion date and penalty for missing it.
  20. The problem is not the inline ads, but the one like what I've attached a photo of (on a PC). At least I think that's the case, I didn't explore it extensively. When you're on a mobile device and you navigate off of your current page to messages, a link on a post to another part of the site, etc, an ad like this pops up takes up the entire mobile device screen and it's not always intuitive how to make it go away. I usually just go back and click the link again and it doesn't show a second time, but it is disruptive to the experience over the normal inline ads.
  21. This is where it gets a bit more nuanced. My K is more fuel efficient than my C in several ways. I plan(ed) 10-11gph in both, but get 10-30kts more speed out of the K depending on altitude. Sometimes more. The C has smaller tanks compared to an F or a J, and would often require a fuel stop for my flights to maintain IFR reserve. The K also gives me more ability to take advantage of winds, of course. The ability to escape the scorching heat of Texas ground faster in the K is a side benefit. Comparing to bravos and ovations your numbers are likely spot on though, but I don't have firsthand experience. I briefly looked at the Bravo but didn't want to feed it.
  22. I'm 6'3" and formerly had a '66C. I found it very comfortable. However, don't plan on putting anyone tall behind him.
  23. In my opinion I think this is the reason why, at least for me. I have put thought into when my dispatch ability needs diminish and time is more free if I'd go back, but what you said above is why there's not much of a point. For me the turbo has been a marked maintenance cost difference as well as time to do said maintenance. Despite that, when I remember the advantages it brings when moving about, it's been worth it for me.
  24. What does "2 occasionally 3" look like weight wise as that can have a pretty big swing and play heavily in your options. My M20K with ~100 gallons has incredible legs for two "FAA standard people". However, as @carusoam mentioned, the OH cost is not pretty.
  25. As best I can tell, Inogen never claimed this. The "G5 Aviator" is a creation of Windblade (source) I suspect there was a cease and desist because their site now says "Windblade Aviator™ Oxygen Concentrator Interface Kit for products such as the Inogen G5" and "Windblade has shifted its focus to providing the essential aviation Interface kit for the G5 oxygen concentrator (i.e., Windblade no longer sells the Inogen products directly). " I'd be curious if they'd disclose performance of the G4 vs G5 with a purchase. Cheaper than buying both and doing independent research
