  1. Not sure about Garmin but foreflight works great with SkyView and the IFD540

  2. Bought an 87. New engine with inner gear doors. My third J. At 8000 feet it trues at 172 knots at 11-12 gal/hr. Flew it home from Seattle to Detroit in 11 hours. Best J built. 160 gross increase as we text. Only J with 252 gear and 140 kt gear speed. Hope I live long enough to wear it out. Pics of panel showing 172 at level flight available. Little tailwind on my way home pushes 200 kts. I love this pristine airplane....put in a stupid parachute and they should"fly" off the shelf.

  4. Hope all is well. Was talking about last week and your excellent insight to my flap problem a while back. They are working great. Just changed the shock disc on five Mooneys. What a joy to work on. Keep in touch. TR

  5. Hi Ventus, Sorry for the delay. Pics of rear seat removal below. There is a small pin on the outer side of each seat. Pulling the pin releases the the seat back and the seat belt on the fuselage side of the seat back. The seat can then be tilted out of the center anchor (also male to female but without the spring loaded pin. Good luck! R

  7. I'm sure you get hundreds of comments so you may not see this. If you do, I wanted to express thanks for your videos. They inspire me to buy an M20C this week. Thanks again

  8. John, My plane is available for us to fly up from KSMO to the fly-in. I will just be finishing my transition training that week and might not be cleared to fly solo due to insurance requirements. If you want to consider riding up with me in my M20F perhaps we can make that happen.

  10. Just got an IFD540 installed in my M20J and thought it was going to be able to talk to my GDL88. Appears that is not the case. Love the unit. So far it as much more advance features then its counter part the Garmin GNT 750. Now if it could only receive weather and traffic, I'd be all set. How long before this problem is corrected?

  14. Thanks again, Mark. I put in a GitHub request for IT to get PS also listed with links back to you on our sponsors page. Nick is swamped with his day job at NTAP and Disney right now, but will get to it soon. Perhaps next year we could think of a presentation that would be educational (soft selling thru education is what our sponsors have found really works. It builds loyalty out the wazoo) and could have you come to airport day with a nice display. Ill see you at SunNFun if not before! Mike

  16. Jolie: I always wondered who this "mooneygirl" on MooneySpace might be. I'm honored to have met you. And how nice that you volunteered at Columbia while spreading the gospel on Mooney at the same time. Thanks. Bob

  19. Swing it with all the avionics on. Like it would be in flight ... iPad on etc ... Level ground is important. We installed that Precusion Vertical Card Compass, thinking it would be better than than wet compass, which our mechanic had just overhauled. Mmmmm ... it's ok, but not perfect. Not cheap to buy either ... the directions are pretty easy swinging the precision. ... It gave us trouble. We got those balance balls. Those made it worse (which surprised us after reading Chris's "Maurauder" reviews) so we took them back off ... We got better results without them. if you decide you need those Balance balls, don't buy them, I'll give you ours (free) ... there are threads about this, and demagnetizing the airframe - too much trouble and expense if you ask me.
