Indeed it is, but what I found so far is dated and not very useful. I will keep at it. Thanks- Hank Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks, I know of them but thought they no longer worked on the Century 2000. I’ll give them a call. Hank Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

GTR 205 or GTN 215

After talking to my Avionics guy, I am leaning towards installing the 355. I'll run it as a standalone second comm and GPS Nav for now, and then I'll install DG/AI G5's or 275's next year. I am hoping the 430W will continue to limp along for another 2-3 years until I can justify replacing it with a 650 or 750. -
I’ve got two O2 tanks, but only one is current. My question boils down to if I can swap out the valves between the 2 tanks. Both are empty. Is there any reason why I can’t do it myself? The small tank is current and was used for medical O2, but I want to swap the valves. Thanks.

$25 a year is great value for the informative details I often read and enjoyment I get as being a part of this site for the past 11 years. Thank you Craig. -

Mooney Aircraft Accident Nampa, ID

From the Garmin EIS in my J, the highest cylinder (no 4) EGT on takeoff indicates 1250F at full power and full rich. Is that set too rich or am I overthinking it? -
No direct experience, but here's another I've read good reviews on: https://executiveautopilots.com/

Not really a way to tell other than check your PayPal history. If the new system works as I hope it will then you will have all those details in there. -
This sounds like a reasonable anti-AI-bot response. Is there some way to know when our 12-months is going to expire, or just wait for the ads to appear? At least the new method will allow instant renewal. Thank you, @mooniac58!!

I think there was a couple of years ago an outfit called Autopilots Central in Tulsa OK that was working on Century autopilots. Not sure if they still do, but worth a try. My experience with them about 7-8 years ago was good. You can find them on google. -
Thank-You Craig for all you do. It is very much appreciated.

Thanks for the info. My expectations are too high . I was looking for communication from Foreflight saying something along the lines of, "Thanks for all of the great feedback we received at Airventure! We're taking the time to incorporate your suggestions before we fully release Dynamic Procedures." Or something like that. But I imagine the actual situation is closer to the development team needing to correct some discoveries identified before and during the Airventure demonstrations of the beta. I wholeheartedly agree the best path is to make sure it's right before release. However, having worked for Boeing for 22 years, I also have a cynical outlook on any communications from the company and its subsidiaries regarding "coming attractions" that include projected dates or even time frames. Now I'm just curious if the release will come before or after the webinar on the 6th. It sure would be nice to have the new software to play along during the webinar.

Anyone have a recommendation on where to send a Century 2000 Autopilot Computer for repair? My understanding is Century Flight Systems in Mineral Wells, TX is no longer in business. I'm currently investigating sending the unit to Palm Beach Avionics, but would appreciate any other recommendations. I realize given the 25 year age of the unit it would be best for the long term to invest in a new, digital autopilot, and will likely do so when its time for the next upgrade of other avionics, but not yet. thanks - Hank

Thanks for all you do Craig! The content and info exchange here is certainly more than worth the minimum $25 a year. -

From what I can see in the forum software only administrator level accounts can approve/reject new accounts and that would mean anyone I gave that level of access to would also have the ability to essentially wipe out the entire site. -

A small one time fee of $3 (PayPal will take 50% of that in their fees) is likely what I will do with a secondary slower and free option of emailing me some docs to prove identity or something like that. I still want people to be able to register for free - but if they create an account and want to post RIGHT NOW then they will need to pay the fee. -
As many of you are aware over the last couple months and escalating today in an epic nature the site has been invaded by spam bots. It reached a level that was no longer manageable so I have set all new accounts to requiring manual approval. IF YOU JUST REGISTERED A NEW ACCOUNT: Please contact me using the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of the site requesting approval. Make sure to include your username on the site as I won't know you by your real name and your emails might not match. This might take up to 24 hours so please be patient. Going forward these are the changes I am proposing: All new accounts will be created as a "basic member" that cannot create content but can browse the forums. All current members will become "verified" members. No action or fee required to keep using the site as you already are. To become a new "verified member" you will have a couple options. For instant and easy access you will pay a small fee. Probably a one time $3.00 fee something like that and your account will be verified for life, no additional payments required. A free alternative and slower method will be available where the new user can email me a copy of their ID and something like a utility bill to prove they are who they say they are. As part of this I have upgraded the forum software to include their "commerce" package which will enable the site to automatically take payments for a number of things like membership fees, selling items, etc. I have been considering this for a while since it will automate the current donation system that requires me to manually upgrade accounts after donations which can take time and is prone to errors (such as PayPal emails not matching user emails and me not being able to find accounts to upgrade). So in the near future I expect to change the current "donate $10 or more to remove ads and get Supporter level access for a year" to something more like a $25 per year auto-renewal membership that is completely managed within your member area of the site. While going from $10 to $25 seems drastic, I need to pick a single amount for all users and $25 is actually what the average donation is now from the past 12 months. Also consider that the minimum donation has been the same $10 minimum since 2008 (hard to believe I have been operating this site for 17 years!) and I have been considering raising it to $15 or $20 for a while now. Note that all current Supporter level members will remain as such until it has been 12 months since their last manual donation. I hope this all makes sense. Please feel free to post your comments below. I might not get to reading them all so if you have something really important to tell me please use the in-site messaging system. Thank you all for your patience as we dealt with the floods of spam over the past couple months. It was frustrating for all of us I know. Craig

It's NOT about the affordability; there is some other psychology at work that chases people off once mandatory fees are imposed.
