Hi All, Ned, and friends.

Obviously the forum is being over run in the last weeks by bots posting inane ads, and the rate at which this is happening seems to be accelerating in the last few days. It has reached the point of overwhelming the actual content and also discouraging posters from posting content I think. There is no reason for us to presume that the acceleration of bot postings will not continue. Soon there will be no actual content at all.

While we think of a proper response is it possible to do something immediately? A CAPTCHA challenge seems to be the usual way and it seems to be imperative that something like this be added as soon as possible to distinguish human posters from machine/bot posters.

There has been some chat about requiring tail numbers, requiring ownership, or whatever, but I am happy to hear from any human and what they have to say. Any human would pass a captcha challenge. Not a bot.

I have added a bunch of aviation related question/answer challenge questions which will hopefully slow down the bots.

If this does not work we will likely switch over to where every new member has to be approved by a moderator.
