Montreal Posted Friday at 02:50 PM Report Posted Friday at 02:50 PM Does anyone have tips for re-installing the pushrod shroud tube springs on Lycoming IO-360A1A? New seals and springs, difficult to engage spring with tube and seals installed. Attached photo of shroud spring. Thanks in advance. Quote
N201MKTurbo Posted Friday at 03:14 PM Report Posted Friday at 03:14 PM It takes bad words and blood. if you coat the seals with DC4 you can get them to snap in pointed up and them rotate them where you like. Put a little DC4 on the spring and tube and the spring will rotate into place easier. If you put a 6” loop of lock wire through the hole, you can slide a screwdriver through the loop and have a good handle to pull on. 1 1 Quote

BillyT0020 Posted Friday at 09:40 PM Report Posted Friday at 09:40 PM Had good luck setting them in place, then rotating the whole shroud with light taps on a flathead screwdriver on up against the protruding part on the outside of the shroud. 1 Quote

MB65E Posted Sunday at 05:23 PM Report Posted Sunday at 05:23 PM .040 safety wire doubled up. Then pull them with safety wire Pliers. The aluminum pushrod tube is super soft. You’ll puncture or damage the ends if you pry on them. -Matt 1 Quote
