I know that the owner (Rich Morey) of the smaller airport here in Madison (Morey Field) swears by them. Rich and his family have been in the aviation business for 3 generations, and know it inside and out, so I would guess that Skycom is very good.

My impression of Skycom was the same, the one time I dealt with them for a small project: pricier than others, but do very good work.

I had them do my IFR certs and swap out my DG which had failed.  They also came over to the shop that was doing my annual after their work was done to address a bad wire that had shorted out my ppt.  Diagnosed it and helped the shop fix it without charging me or even making me wait.  Really nice guy, really helpful.  Even sent me a Christmas card this year.

I know they were booked out many months when I asked about doing a G5 install.  Good shop, I will use them for any and all future avionics.
