Wingover
Hi All, Does anyone know why the right aileron linkage touches the gear mechanism (M20J)? is this normal? if not, what is the correct way to adjust it? Mechanic says it needs a washer in the bearing horn arm?? See picture. I have a video but I don't know how to upload it.
Oscar Avalle
I have the same issue in my M20C. I was told it is a design problem
takair
This thread mentions an AD and two service bulletins. From your picture, I’m not sure either has been done….
N201MKTurbo
It looks like the anti-wear Ty-Wrap is doing its job. 1
EricJ
Yes, you're missing the plastic spacers in the joint on the lower right of the pic. It's not catastrophic if they're not in there, but it will prevent the issue you are describing. See Service Bulletin M20-289A. https://www.mooney.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/SBM20-289A.pdf
