1988-JP Posted January 2, 2024 Report Posted January 2, 2024 Hello all, and all the best in 2024. last time I had to stay "Grounded" Since Tx, would show on GNS 430, and I could only transmit on COM2, which is an old Narco COM, without 8.33. I removed the Narco Audio Panel, and now even the COM2 , isn't working anymore. I don't have any picture but the Pins on the back of Audio Panel connector are broking e.g. falling off. From today onwards, almost nothing is working anymore now. I do plan to fly the plane to a pretty big overhaul, where they will change Audio Panel, old Bendix ADF etc etc, but I am stuck currently on the ground without much options. Maybe the best option is to buy a new Garmin, or any other suggested Audio Panel (Trig TMA 44 ? ) and do the the new installation. or to resolder new pins (if I can find ones).. Thank you, BR Quote

Thank you, BR Expand Or just buy a used one on Ebay until you decided to do your panel upgrade. You want to save the labor by doing the upgrade all at once. The audio panel touches virtually everything in the panel. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2334524.m570.l1313&_nkw=Narco+CP136&_sacat=0&_odkw=Narco+CP+136&_osacat=0 Quote
Rwsavory Posted January 2, 2024 Report Posted January 2, 2024 PS Engineering makes excellent audio panels and their products enjoy excellent factory support. Quote
Joshua Blackh4t Posted January 2, 2024 Report Posted January 2, 2024 Depends on how soon you get it replaced and what you are comfortable with. You could potentially hardwire the 430 pins at the panel. That would get you a functional radio until it got upgraded. Quote

Thank you, BR Expand The Narco audio panel is pretty bulletproof and the ones I am familiar with have integral contacts on the board. Are you saying they are coming off the board? Is this a 136? Would really be curious to see what you are describing as falling off. You can pick up a spare very reasonably to hold you over. For what it’s worth, stuck mic would rarely be this particular audio. Expand I have a Narco CP 136 removed for upgrade a few years ago. All the buttons and lights work. I also have a Trig comm, TY96, complete with the install tray. It’s 1.3” only tall. Working great when removed. Quote

Expand behind the tray is a connector with all the pins and wires, the pins that are touch the board are simply breaking up , and the contact to board is lost Quote

Expand Thank you Sir, but I am from Europe, and I'm considering into buying a new Audio Panel, in any case a Vintage plane, needs a bit of "Face lift" 1 Quote
