A64Pilot Posted December 2, 2023 Report Posted December 2, 2023 For anyone wishing to install a LifePO4 “lithium iron” sometimes called, be sure to compute your weight and balance prior to spending those big bucks. Now I’m a tremendous fan of LifePO4 batteries, just replaced four 85 lbs of Trojan lead acid batteries in my golf cart with four 25 lb LifePO4’s, gained everything and lost a bunch of weight and the weight in an airplane can be an issue, especially if the battery is used as ballast like it often is in a Mooney. 1 Quote

Guest Posted December 5, 2023 Report Posted December 5, 2023 Just flew it. New zephtronics regulator and new Concorde battery. Ran great. No lights! Was a great day, fixed my trim, a strobe light and got the dme working. Now just need to figure out the tail position light… thanks for all the help! Quote
