QuinnS Posted February 21, 2022 Report Posted February 21, 2022 I have a 78 M20K 231 that has Glare Fences on each wing tip (part number 210386-001 & 002). Can someone enlighten me, other than the obvious, as to what glare these prevent? Mine are pretty bent up and the lower portions are broken off. My assumption is they aren't anything aerodynamic, just to reduce glare from the stobes/nav lights? (Part #6 on the diagram). wingtip.pdf
Hank Posted February 21, 2022 Report Posted February 21, 2022 Those little, thin pieces of metal keep the nav lights and wing tip strobes from shining / flashing directly into your eyes, while you are in the cockpit.

I've thought about painting mine black specifically for that reason

It was right there, you didn't have to strain your eyes to see it.
