BillC Posted December 14, 2011 Report Posted December 14, 2011 Can anyone recommend a good product for removing cloudiness from my side windows? Thanks, Bill Quote

flyboy0681 Posted December 30, 2011 Report Posted December 30, 2011 I wasn't aware that there was a way to repair crazing acrylic. My two back windows are getting very cloudy, is there a proven way to clear them or is it all snake oil? Quote
MooneyMitch Posted December 30, 2011 Report Posted December 30, 2011 Happy New Year to you BillC. Not to be too facetious here, but in my experience maybe the best way to solve your cloudy window issues is to follow suit of "scottfromiowa"........remove and replace!! As many of us have discovered, it is truly one of the best visual enhancements a person can do with their Mooney. It is also a safety factor. The job is a bit labor intensive, but well worth the outcome. The whole world brightens up so much as you peer outside through your new windows. You can do it! Quote

scottfromiowa Posted December 30, 2011 Report Posted December 30, 2011 24ish...That would be about $1700 in labor saved...That doesn't include transport to airport online ordering windows, sealant screws etc. Honestly I had fun doing it and learned a lot. It is doable by anyone, but it DOES take time, attention to detail and a partner. CAN NOT be done without a partner IMO...so maybe you have to double that labor cost... Quote
eldeano Posted December 30, 2011 Report Posted December 30, 2011 Short of replacement, wet sanding with micromesh, then polishing is the most effective solution. You will find verying kits for this at Aircraft Spruce and possibly Sportys. This is how A&Ps are trained to polish windows. It's a bit of work, but it produces good results. Good Luck Quote
GeorgePerry Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 Happy New year to you too Mitch! Thanks for the responses guys. I'm ordering the window as we speak. Quote
GeorgePerry Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 The previous post was from BillC. The bug is at it again. Quote
