aviatoreb Posted February 2, 2021 Report Posted February 2, 2021 How here is an uncommon engine failure story. A nonevent really in a plane like that over friendly terrain for a ski plane - the frozen Lake Champlain near Burlington, VT. And some friendly ice fishermen with ATV's. https://www.northcountrypublicradio.org/news/story/43129/20210201/watch-ice-fishermen-on-lake-champlain-tow-plane-to-safety 1

I’m a flatlander now living down in western Florida, and was up in Burlington a couple of years ago on vacation in the summer of 2019. That’s a beautiful lake, but I sure wouldn’t want to land on it in the winter time! (Or the summer either for that matter....). Can’t say I’ve ever had my Mooney towed by a snowmobile either.
TonyK Posted February 11, 2021 Report Posted February 11, 2021 The Ti boat ramp is directly across the lake from my old house. Happy it ended well and sorry I missed it.
