On the 650 it's even easier.  Just go to the waypoint page and there's a "create WPT" button.  If the upload doesn't work just do it on the 650.

when you load your flight plan in wirelessly via the flight stream 510 the only error message you get on the GTN is that the flight plan will not load due to a non known waypoint or something like that.  if you were home and loaded up a 4 hour flight like I sometimes do and then go to upload it to the airplane and get that message you have no idea which one it is....could be many waypoints you have to check.....

Maybe someone has a better way of finding out which one it is but it is a royal pain in the ass......and for the money we have to pay if its in the Garmin App it should be in the damn GTN......what are we paying for?

Do you have a GTN and use the flight stream on almost every leg? do you fly long legs and or to places that are not in the database?  doesn't it drive you nuts for the price you may have paid for the GTN and all the other stuff to have to figure out which waypoint the GTN did not like and then have to push 20 buttons to add a point?  What did we pay all that money for?

I use both. Garmin is less for the the 430.

Garmin does not support MX20 for repair or updates. Fortunately Jeppesen still provides updates.

I keep the MX20 current because it provides geo referenced charts. I hate clutter so anything that helps reduce/eliminate stuff on my lap the better.

My friend had an mx20 in his plane. That was really nice to have.  The big screen worked well in combination with his 430

Never had these issues and wasn’t aware they were lurking. But I guess Iam less trusting about trying to exchange user waypoints. But I can offer the Garmin recommended solution that has worked seamlessly for me with GP.
I did this all a few years ago so my details may be sketchy. But as a frequent visitor to Mexico and particularly Baja I wanted all the dirt strips in Baja in my GTNs so I would have them available for wx or emergencies in addition to the few I use. So I loaded a few hundred user waypoints as user Airport waypoints with additional details for runway dimensions and surface type. I recall this file was then loaded onto the GTN FS-510 in a specific directory which automatically loaded them onto my GTN's (750 and 650). I then loaded them all into Garmin Pilot with a similar but different file structure that was easy to change too - due to different comment sized fields.
Between the two I transfer flight plans back and forth using my user airport waypoints without issue. Plus I have them accessible as nearest airports too when down there.
The documentation is there if you desire to do similarly.

I think the whole point is that since the GTNs are expensive to buy and Garmin also sells database updates, and Garmin Pilot is a subscriotion service, why are the two databases incompatible? Why do so many AIRPORTS! show up in one but nkt the other product, and can't be easily and simply transferred? Also, when a transferred flight plan uses a waypoint that the fancy, expensive product doesn't recognize (for whatever reason), it should be simple for it to notify the user WHICH waypoint it doesn't understand,  not nust that there's one in there somewhere.

you nailed it....I pay the money not to have to be a computer programer......but this is what you get when you have a team of lets say 20-30 people and only 2 fly airplanes....if that
