Fortunately, unlike the Republic of California, the fee would have been about $20. The second time I asked for it they granted it with no problem and no bill in the mail either... I think it’s $24 now. Signature has been rapidly raising their fees at Miami. I wonder if the local governments that allow the criminal racketeering and antitrust practices that Signature is guilty of are aware how much commerce it costs their cities. Key West used to be the cheaper and easier alternative to the Bahamas. Quote

I've heard them addressed to me in Cincinnati and Charlotte on rare visits and passing-throughs, but have yet to hear them the several times each year that I take trips past dear old Atlanta . . . . It's changed so much since Mom and Dad grew up there. I was based at Fulton County from 2002-2009. Back then, Atlanta would clear you through the Bravo if you were returning from the South. Cross midfield KATL at 5,000 feet. It was fun, but you had to stay at 5,000 longer than you wanted to for a descent into FTY. LAX is much easier, with its special flight rules area route directly over midfield, no clearance required. Quote

They’d still do, word on the street is that it’s 2 VFR and 2 IFR at a time. If you’re IFR and they don’t send you over the top it may be worth asking if VFR will shorten your trip (weather permitting). 1 Quote
