Seth Posted June 15, 2020 Report Posted June 15, 2020 Obviously, financial market crisis times like the current recession affects how airplanes are priced and sold. However, during a course of a normal year (not a year with COVID19, Black Lives Matter Demonstrations, and Murder Hornets), for those that buy/sell aircraft as living, is there a cyclical nature? Convertible cars sell for a discount in the fall/winter and a premium in the spring/summer. Are there better times of year to buy/sell aircraft? Thanks! -Seth Quote
Hank Posted June 15, 2020 Report Posted June 15, 2020 You aren't thinking about selling my Missile, are you??? Quote
Seth Posted June 16, 2020 Author Report Posted June 16, 2020 Hank - not at this time, unless someone offered me way more that I thought it was worth! It's not on the market and if I ever did put it on the market, I have five Mooney Spacers I'd have to offer it to privately first, and then I'd list it here before listing it on any other website. -Seth Quote
carusoam Posted June 16, 2020 Report Posted June 16, 2020 There is a season that is a bit dull for selling things.... Cold holiday months are not big drivers of machine sales... But, unlike boats... planes get used any day of the year.... There isn’t a rush to buy a plane before it gets put away for the winter... or buy it in time for the summer season... Find out what time of the year... that people who like speed and efficiency get their bonus checks.... Great question for Jimmy... @jgarrison PP thoughts only, not a plane sales guy... Best regards, -a- Quote
Nick Pilotte Posted June 16, 2020 Report Posted June 16, 2020 I have found that if it is a nicely equipped O1 with the 310HP upgrade the right time to sell is about 4 days before I can get to it to look it over. 1 4 Quote
Parker_Woodruff Posted June 19, 2020 Report Posted June 19, 2020 Seth, In normal times there can be a lot of activity at the end of the year if people have a tax goal. Spring is also very active (especially in the Ag world). Overall the market has just been hot for the last few years. Not enough good airplanes in the pre-owned market. 2 Quote
