Does anyone have the wing and stab covers offered by MAC's (airplane-covers.com)? I'm looking to order a set for winter, but they don't have any pics on their website for the Mooney, and I'm interested to see how well they fit. Let me know if you have and like them, and what they look like on your plane.

Cheers!

Bruce’s has pictures of their product at aircraftcovers.com. Bruce’s products and customer service are top notch. They modified a cover for me that was purchased by the previous owner to accommodate an added 406 ELT antenna at no charge.

What is the objective?

NJ has many damp months... during the winter...

Things to consider while doing your comparison homework...

You will probably want to avoid keeping/trapping moisture in the plane’s wings...

My M20C lived outdoors for a decade a few miles to your north...

The cabin cover is ultimately important... tail and cowl covers are nice... keep water from freezing in the spinner.

Wish I had experience with wing covers to be helpful...

One pain in the neck... water collecting on top of the fuel caps... then freezing... hard to check the fuel if you can’t raise the little tab...

Best regards,

I have mac’s cabin cover.   I’m happy with the value.  It’s fit isn’t perfect, but cost is quite a bit less than other suppliers for the same materials.   I wouldn’t expect the other covers fit to be perfect either, but worth the lower price.

I have the Mac's cabin and Bruce's tail cover. The wing/stab covers would mostly be used in advance of a forecasted snow/frost event to save time if a planned departure was required. For the spinner, I have one of Don's "prop pasties" and I stand the prop vertical - does a good job keeping water out. I lay rubber sink drain covers (from the hardware store) over the fuel caps to keep water from collecting/freezing.
