delaneyg@hughes.net Posted February 25, 2019 Report Posted February 25, 2019 In the middle of trying to annual a Mite, and discovered that there is no drain on the aux fuel tank. Does anyone out there have a drawing 1049 for the factory installed aux tank. If you own a Mite, could you look under the cockpit to see if you have a drain? I am struggling with returning the AC to service without a drain. Quote
Culver LFA Posted February 26, 2019 Report Posted February 26, 2019 I'm not sure about the Mite but I can tell you that one of Al Mooney's earlier 1940 designs, the Culver Cadet, does not have a drain on the main fuel tank. There was also an optional long range tank that mounted behind the seat and that did not have a drain on it either (if I remember correctly). There is a gascolator on the firewall which is difficult to access during preflight checks. Hopefully a Mite expert will chime in with some Mite facts for you! Quote
Hank Posted February 26, 2019 Report Posted February 26, 2019 It's been approved by many IAs over the past half-dozen decades, now suddenly it's not airworthy??? Quote

Keith20EH Posted February 26, 2019 Report Posted February 26, 2019 My Culver has a tank sump on the bottom of the tank, in the cabin, what were they thinking? Quote
