Yes (Maropers), I will hopefully replace someday with an HSI that's shorter?  It will be fine.  I looked at your panel.  Looks good!  The 430 will be N.I.C.E.!  Auto-pilot?

-UPDATE-Lights still NOT yet installed.  My panel does NOT allow for installation of bezel ring on DG...The instrument will "hit" the yoke...Bummer.  Installers say "You need a separate rheostat".  Apparently ceiling mounted unit won't work (eye roll)...Oh well, this will be a compromise with DG NOT illuminated.  Waiting on the rheostat from Spruce.  I have overhead cabin lighting too so this will provide some DG illumination.  I primarily use 696 to navigate so NOT a huge deal, but am disappointed at the hurdles on this install.  What seemed pretty straight forward is taking more time and money...like all things aviation.

Good idea...(washers).  I will bounce this off the installer.  Thanks for the suggestion.  Scott

Well here is how the panel lights came out.  Still disappointed about the DG, but I have the bezel.  It's wired and capped so install with shorter DG is possible down the road.  I like the light provided from these.  Installer had to put in a separate dimmer.  It is mounted on the lower left of the pilot panel as shown in photo.  The ceiling dimmer still works for the overhead spots...

Actually kicking out the top of the panel with spacers on the shock mounts should do the trick.  It will help with the AI a bit as well.
