** SOLD **GDL-69A

Thinking about selling my GDL-69A as part of a system upgrade.  The installer has given me a lowball trade-in value, so I thought I would check on MS first to see if anyone was interested in making me an offer.

I think a MS member sold one a few months ago for 6-700?  Unfortunately less than one would think for a $3k unit.  XM should come out with a less expensive plan before the entire aviation community dumps the subscription.

You hit the nail on the head.  Believe some users benefit from additional weather that is available on the XM via ADSB, and the music is a plus for those who like to stretch their aircraft's legs, but the pricing structure is a little rich for me.

The GDL69A is one of only two Garmin products in my Mooney. I do like to stretch the legs of the 252 and have done several 5+ hour long flights. Having full Sirius radio to listen to is not something I'd like to do without. 

By the way, I'm controlling the GDL69a with my Avidyne IFD540. The 540 gives me the channel selection, song, album, etc. Works great, love it.

They do have a cheaper subscription , its called the mariners package...

The GDL-69 and -69A have lost some market value because they don’t receive all the frequency channels of the latest satellites. 

The current GDL-69SXM model receives the full range of channels.

I thought you needed to have a portable unit to receive that package?
