dead?

I found this on the Navworks website:

Proposed FAA Airworthiness Directive: We are anticipating an FAA AD to be issued on existing ADS600-B Systems. Be assured we have taken steps to ensure seamless instructions for AD compliance. Upon issuance and review, NavWorx is prepared to release a new software revision which will allow for continued operation up to 2020. It is anticipated that the software update will not require removal of system components and can be completed by utilizing existing configuration computer port already installed in aircraft installation. As stated above, we have established an upgrade path for existing customers to upgrade to the new ADS600-B NexGen 2.0 System that will comply with FAA 2020 mandate.

They got caught cheating , has to do with software , But as I understand it , If it is in your plane , It HASTO BE removed....

it does not have to be removed but the ADSB must be disabled or the GPS source changed to an approved GPS

Maybe but I'm skeptical. If you read the banter back and forth in the press between them and the FAA they keep saying they're working with the FAA and the FAA keeps saying they won't return their phone calls. Hopefully they'll come to agreement but I'm not going to hold my breath.

As I read it , it has to do with them changing the priority address in the download to make it work , FAA says no way....

(B) Revise the Limitations section of the AFMS by inserting a copy of this AD or by making pen-and-ink changes to add the following: “OPERATION USING THE INTERNAL POSITION 16 SOURCE IS PROHIBITED. actually it fails because of the SIL level being above 0

changing the sil back to 0 doesnt do shit for the 2020 issue.  You have adsb but its not 2020 compliant so whats the point?  The only real option is to buy the certified external GPS source and pay to have it installed and connected to the navworx.  What I find strange is hwy anybody would have bought one of these.  When they were originally selling it they said it was only sil 0 and wouldnt pass the 2020 mandate?  Then they patched it to falsly claim sil 3 which made it 2020 compliant but only because they lied about it actually being sil 3.

whole thing smells to me.  I suspect they go under and all those people are screwed.  Do they actually sell anything else?  Id never heard of them until the scuttle butt about this a number of months ago.
