aviator_brian Posted April 27, 2017 Report Posted April 27, 2017 I was looking at the remote control tugs at www.acairtechnology.com Does anyone have one of these and if so how do you like it?
BDPetersen Posted April 27, 2017 Report Posted April 27, 2017 See them at OSH. Had to have. Then I saw the price. Sigh.
thinwing Posted April 27, 2017 Report Posted April 27, 2017 Only 3.6 amu...definitely not CB club item
Bennett Posted April 28, 2017 Report Posted April 28, 2017 The gentleman who has a hangar across from mine flies a piston twin. I think it is a Baron. He has one of these remote controlled "tugs" and it is fun to watch him use it to get his airplane in and out of his Hagar. I've never have seen him have to pull it back out to correctly position the airplane to run it back into his hangar. Wish I could say that. Anyway a neat toy that is outside of my "reasonable" price range. It is neat though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Rustler Posted April 28, 2017 Report Posted April 28, 2017 We had a demonstration of that tug here in Taos several years ago. We wondered how well/fast it would stop if it were on ice or water. We also wondered about the price--it is very expensive. Finally, the length of time it held a charge wasn't too clear. That being said, it worked very well in our big hangar.
Godfather Posted April 28, 2017 Report Posted April 28, 2017 Looks like a nice tug. You might need to watch the unit closely to make sure it did not turn past the stops...does it turn like a zero turn or is it programmed to make slow arc corrections?
