markejackson02 Posted April 24, 2017 Report Posted April 24, 2017 While the prop is off I changed oil and fixed some cowling stuff. Noticed the metal baffle above the #2 cylinder is cracked. The Mooney part manual is a little unclear about this part number. I'm guessing the part number is 600368-005 and the whole assembly is 600368-501? Are these normally available as a lone part? I may just create two doubling plates from 0.025 and rivet them into place.
jetdriven Posted April 24, 2017 Report Posted April 24, 2017 (edited) They often crack there. Fabricate a doubler ffrom .032 2024 t-3 and rivet with AN470 Rivets. Edited April 24, 2017 by jetdriven 2

Dale Logsdon Posted April 24, 2017 Report Posted April 24, 2017 If you repair it with 6061 T6 it will last longer on a baffling repair.
75_M20F Posted April 24, 2017 Report Posted April 24, 2017 (edited) Airforms has a PMA for them, better quality and lower price then OEM. https://www.airforms.biz/index.php?route=product/manufacturer/info&manufacturer_id=14 $128.00 with silicone seal, you will need to specify red or orange of whatever color that is though.
