olympiadesign Posted June 20, 2016 Report Posted June 20, 2016 I purchased this unit from Brittain industries to install in my mooney so that I could add a heading bug and roll steer to my positive control autopilot wing leveler in N242TS. As many of you know this airplane was in an accident so I no longer have a need for this unit. It was never installed and is still new in the box from Brittain. I paid roughly $1,000.00 for it with shipping. Let me know who needs one and make an offer. Thanks, Quote
SoMooney Posted June 21, 2016 Report Posted June 21, 2016 Did your plane have the accutrak that you were adding this to or just the PC? Im trying to find a BI-805 and Accutrak. Thanks and GLWS! Quote
olympiadesign Posted June 21, 2016 Author Report Posted June 21, 2016 I did have the accutrak system in the old plane. This was to be an add on for heading bug input to that system. Quote
carusoam Posted June 21, 2016 Report Posted June 21, 2016 How is the recovery process going OlympiaD? Best regards, -a- Quote
olympiadesign Posted June 21, 2016 Author Report Posted June 21, 2016 I am doing well. Thanks for asking. Are you related to Richard Caruso by any chance? 1 Quote
carusoam Posted June 21, 2016 Report Posted June 21, 2016 We have... johns, franks, pats, nicks, mikes, dominics and Marys... No Richards. All originating from the Boston area... Best regards, -a- Quote
salty Posted June 21, 2016 Report Posted June 21, 2016 (edited) I'm not up to date on this stuff yet, can someone confirm if my understanding is correct? Accutrack will simply hold a bank angle, and this added on will hold a heading? I'm assuming this is useless without the accutrack because this doesn't interface to the pneumatic system? olympiadesign Posted June 21, 2016 Author Report Posted June 21, 2016 Your best bet is to contact Brittain. If you have the positive control system already installed and a heading bug DG that outputs heading info, this will translate the heading info into a trackable heading for the positive control to follow. carusoam Posted June 21, 2016 Report Posted June 21, 2016 See if this helps... http://www.brittainautopilots.com/products-services.html Best regards, -a- Quote
SoMooney Posted June 21, 2016 Report Posted June 21, 2016 I was thinking you still had the old plane but just read the description of your accident and I'm glad you are ok! Hope you recover well and you should be proud you handled it the way you did! Quote
N601RX Posted June 21, 2016 Report Posted June 21, 2016 The Accutrac will add the ability to the wing leveler to track a gps or nav radio. The Accuflite will allow the wing leveler to fly a DG heading. You can add one or both. The system also needs a BI805 valve to work. The Accuflite and Accutrac can share a single BI 805 valve. I have an extra Accutrac if anyone is interested in adding both. Quote

SoMooney Posted June 22, 2016 Report Posted June 22, 2016 Im looking primarily for a BI-805 valve cause without it they are all useless to me, but my long term goal is a accutrak, so if someone has one with our without the 805 ill buy it. Not ready for the accuflite yet. GLWS Quote
