Raptor05121 Posted April 10, 2016 Report Posted April 10, 2016 I bought a tube of this stuff from a vendor at Sun N Fun, who had a spinner on display. He dabbed a bit on, rubbed it until it started to remove the oxidation (the paste starts to turn black) and then wipe it clean and it comes out like a mirror. I had a chance to try it on my spinner today and I am blown away. It worked like magic. My spinner has always been dirty with water spots and discoloration. I've tried clay bars, Meguiars automotive polishing paste, etc. This stuff works in seconds. Put it on, rub until it turns black, and wipe off. My spinner is smoooth as a baby's bottom, too. I did a quick run and had a majority of the spinner polished in 20 minutes with some elbow grease. Now that it works, next time I wash the plane, I will remove the spinner so I can get under the screw heads and also the prop straps behind it. My spinner is now mirror-like. It also removed the microscratches that reflected in the sun, I paid $5 for the tube and he said it will do four spinners. I've probably used about half of it so far, so I might get another spinner polish out of it. But rest assured, I'm ordering a can of this ASAP. It's a must-have for anyone with unpainted spinners. I do not have any after pictures just yet, I was on my way to work, but I'll get some ASAP. Quote
carqwik Posted April 11, 2016 Report Posted April 11, 2016 Been using it for years....takes a lot of rubbing but does the job well. Quote
laytonl Posted April 17, 2016 Report Posted April 17, 2016 I use this stuff. http://www.californiacustom.com/purple_metal_polish.html it seems to require less rubbing. lee Quote
Hank Posted April 17, 2016 Report Posted April 17, 2016 Me, too, Lee. It's a fraction of the time and elbow grease required by Mothers. And boy does it shine! Quote
