I was curious if anyone knows whether it was sold or parted out?  Hopefully it was sold and has a happy home

Also how did the foundation fly the heavily modified aircraft?  Apparently under an experimental type certificate...?

I think they unsuccessfully tried to sell it years ago. It is definitely experimental, and probably under R&D restrictions, which makes it nearly useless for average ownership and XC travel.

Actually a fellow named Kyle owns it he was working at LASAR for a time and the CAFE was parked out on the ramp. He and the Mooney have since moved on but it was flying from 1o2 last year.

I posted an article in the downloads section on the airplane from a Sport Avaition article from 1982. It would be cool to see the airplane in the right hands again.

Great Article!

I spoke with Kyle at the last MAPA convention and he flew it out to Terrell Texas as the weather kept him from getting into Kerrville. I was hoping to see it but the timing didn't work out. Nice to know it's flying.
