Geoff Posted January 6, 2016 Author Report Posted January 6, 2016 Thanks for all the input. One last question: Should I install the new windows before or after new paint?
KSMooniac Posted January 6, 2016 Report Posted January 6, 2016 I would install prior to new paint, and have the painter "dress" the edges of the paint around the windows with a fine stripe of fuel sealant to keep the paint edges from eroding/peeling, especially on the windscreen.
jetdriven Posted January 6, 2016 Report Posted January 6, 2016 You must do the windscreen before new paint, due to the retainer strip on the bottom and the 60 or so rivets that must be changed. The side windows you can do before or after.
Guest Posted January 6, 2016 Report Posted January 6, 2016 Further to Bryon's comment, be sure to strip the paint around the windshield for the first 1/2". Your painter will thank you and there will be no chance of stripper damage to the new windshield. Clarence
