Guitarmaster Posted December 8, 2015 Report Posted December 8, 2015 Just bought a used edm 700. Looking forward to seeing what my engine is actually doing! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 2
carusoam Posted December 8, 2015 Report Posted December 8, 2015 Matt will you connecting some of the other features like FF and fuel need to destination? These are things that require a wire from different devices like your FF and GPS. Good to have in the install plan if you can get it. Best regards, -a-

It's coming with all new probes, but me thinks I will have to get the FF transducer. I have a KLN 89 for a gps. I don't know if that will talk to the EDM. Too bad I can't make Foreflight talk to it! N601RX Posted December 8, 2015 Report Posted December 8, 2015 It will work fine with the 89. They will share information in both directions.

Heloman Posted December 9, 2015 Report Posted December 9, 2015 Are all the EDM 700s capable of fuel flow? It's listed as an option when you buy one, but does it require more then just the sensor, is there a difference in the unit itself?
carusoam Posted December 9, 2015 Report Posted December 9, 2015 JPI has done a nice job with their online manuals. They explain things that are in there that get forgotten over the years. The manual will tell you how to turn functions on and off. It will also tell you how to set display characteristics like what to show and how long it shows for... Let me know if you need help finding the JPI manual on line... JPI devices are always one part hardware and one part software. Knowing what version you have of both might be critical. The sensor is a good part of the hardware. Best regards, -a-

I believe if it didn't originally come with FF you have to send it in to be programmed.
Andy95W Posted December 9, 2015 Report Posted December 9, 2015 On my JPI-730 you simply add a wire to the back. Any programming is accomplished in the setup pages with the unit installed in the airplane. 1
