Txbyker Posted April 29, 2015 Report Posted April 29, 2015 I need to replace an exhaust hose on my Ovation that connects to the lower cowling-the one that you have to remove to drop the lower cowling. I know it is 2-1/2" SCAT -10 but the factory hose has molded or taped ends. It appears all you can buy is footage that you cut to length then you have to deal with the reinforcement wire coming un raveled and trying to secure it. Does anyone know if there is some sort of SCAT tape that you wrap the ends with to make the hose slide nicely over hose clamp area? Russ Quote
BillC Posted April 29, 2015 Report Posted April 29, 2015 Russ, This company fabricates SCAT tubing with oven cured ends that eliminates the hassle dealing with cut ends. I've used them on all my Mooneys. I'll never go back. http://customducts.net/ 2 Quote
N201MKTurbo Posted April 30, 2015 Report Posted April 30, 2015 I use custom ducts. If your duct gets a hole you can fix it with red RTV and fine fiberglass cloth. 2 Quote
Txbyker Posted May 5, 2015 Author Report Posted May 5, 2015 Bill, Turbo, thanks so much. Jon at Custom Ducts shipped me a custom measured 25" tube the same day I called him. The ends are perfect. Russ Quote
