Tommy Posted April 8, 2015 Report Posted April 8, 2015 Hi guys! I am doing some air race at the end of August this year and some of my sponsors want to put their logo on my plane. Can anyone recommend any company that prints aircraft decals (lasting but not permanent and easy removal with no damage to the paint)? Thanks! Quote
Hank Posted April 8, 2015 Report Posted April 8, 2015 Check your local sign shops for either vinyl cling or the peel-and-stick vinyl that can be removed later. Don't know if a wrap can be cut to clear the prop or tail and put back together again. Have fun, and post pictures! Plane pictures and race pictures, too. Quote
bonal Posted April 8, 2015 Report Posted April 8, 2015 What type of race? Will it be cross country or closed course. Quote
Tommy Posted April 8, 2015 Author Report Posted April 8, 2015 Cross country over some fairly hostile desert environment - namely the Australian Outback! Quote
Yooper Rocketman Posted April 8, 2015 Report Posted April 8, 2015 We remove the vinyl "company name" decals all the time from used trucks coming in to inventory as trades at my dealership. If you use a heat gun or hair dryer to heat them some, they will come off really easy. The only sign they were ever there is the faded paint in the area where the decal wasn't. That will not be an issue for you. Quote
carusoam Posted April 9, 2015 Report Posted April 9, 2015 Other than that, Tommy... How is everything working? Best regards, -a- Quote
Tommy Posted April 10, 2015 Author Report Posted April 10, 2015 Has been good! I think I've managed to fix all the squawks on my J *touch wood* and now doing my commercial training with it! I have got a few instructors wanting to give me lessons so they get to fly the legendary Mooney! They want to know what it feels like to fly 150kt using less than 31L of fuel and to land with numbers. Next stop: The Outback Air Race (looking for sponsors!). Then avionics upgrade (ADS-B before Australian CASA's IFR mandate due 2017! 1 Quote
