flyer7324 Posted November 12, 2014 Report Posted November 12, 2014 62 m20C with MODWORKS vernier throttle STC. Anomaly: on takeoff after retract gear warning horn sounds. When throttle is reduced one inch to cruise climb horn stops. Otherwise works normally on approach at 15 inches.
Hank Posted November 12, 2014 Report Posted November 12, 2014 My 70C gear warning horn sounds at 12", not 15" as yours does. But I have the throttle quadrant, which should not affect the horn. I've never heard it at any other time. Sometimes even it's gusty, the stall horn will beep just after rotation while I'm climbing at Vx to clear the trees, or on short final. I also don't "cruise climb," I aim for Vy, or as close as temps will allow in summer, from rotation to cruise altitude. If I have to level off, I climb later at Vy again.
KSMooniac Posted November 12, 2014 Report Posted November 12, 2014 Just contort your head under the panel and have a look at the mechanical interaction between the throttle component and the switch assembly. Sounds like the switch isn't rigged correctly and it should be a simple fix.

Lionudakis Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 There's a good chance the micro switch is rigged to far aft, and not sounding where it's supposed to in the low power department. The cable is crimped into a larger diameter rigid tube, this transition is what trips the microswitch. Further back the larger diameter tapers down some, this is where your microswitch is riding at t/o power.
