N177MC Posted September 20, 2014 Report Posted September 20, 2014 From the evidence inside the engine, what was left..oil starvation was the cause..with failure beginning on the firewall side of the engine and proceeding towards the spinner..but the root cause of the oil escaping from the from the engine was not determined. Marty.. Interesting, so it was not a con-rod bolt failure as originally speculated . Quote

Marty.. Wow. 5-6 quarts of oil left the airplane in flight and there was no evidence of where it came out!!?? Quote
