After seeing the ads in several online aviation websites, I decided to have our Mooney miniaturized so that I could take her with me when I deploy next month.  Let me just say that Factory Direct Models did a fantastic job and it was well worth every dime I paid for it.  Everything from the antennaes to the flags on the gear doors.  All of the stripes are dead on matches.  Just thought I'd share in case anyone else wants a miniature verrsion of their beloved Mooney.  No affiliation, just a very happy customer.

Shouldn't be that much longer.  I ordered mine around the middle of April and received it this past Tuesday.  They sent me the pictures for final approval on the 1st of June and shipped on the 2nd via UPS Expediated service.  The models are made in the Philippines and take a little longer in shipping.

Actually, if you blow hard enough it will.  There's enough hot air in the house with my boys that the fans move most of the time with little or no effort... Sealed

On the model though, it is a separate piece that can be spun.

Eric,

I just got my shipment last week and pulled out my Mooney from its box and I remembered you were due to get yours back in June.  Did it ever make it?  I'm curious to see the interior and how they did it.

I ordered mine during the AOPA Summit last year in Tampa, FL, and saved $50?(show special)  I think I sent in about 50 photos of my aircraft to be sure they would get it correct, and when they sent me the proofs before giving them the ok, I noticed the nav lights out on the wingtips were not as depicted on my plane, and also the cowl flaps were not correct(the right was showing open, the left closed).  After taking additional photos, they corrected the errors, and now I'm a VERY happy customer.  They did leave out one of the antennas on the belly, even though I had photos of them, but I wasn't too concerned about that one.  I didn't get the clear glass model, as it wasn't out at that time, but I did choose to order the larger version.  Excellent details and crisp lettering.  I would definitely recommend them.

Somebody now has to make a special model for vintage owners where they can try on all the different speed mods, kind of like a Mr. Potatohead.Wink
