N6843N Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 One of my sending units is kinda TU. Anyone know of source to get one rebuilt? Mooney is out of stock with a supposed July 10 shipping date, I don't think mine will live that long. Quote
ErickR Posted May 29, 2010 Report Posted May 29, 2010 What actually is wrong with the sender? We had one in the left wing that the float was stuck. After taking it out and cleaning the mechanical arm link with some solvent it works good as new. We had just bought the plane in January and I believe the previous owner left the tanks mostly half empty allowing the sender to dry out. Quote
N6843N Posted May 29, 2010 Author Report Posted May 29, 2010 The bushing in the sender is worn so it allows the contact point of the resistor to ride off of the windings causing the gauge to "jump". Quote
danb35 Posted May 29, 2010 Report Posted May 29, 2010 I'd check with Air Parts of Lock Haven--I understand they can repair or rebuild most fuel level sending units. Quote
67E Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 Air Parts 1 800 443 3117 just rebuilt mine for 20E for $166.00, they have 2 day turn around and were great to work with. Quote
