  2. You have a very thorough list but there’s one glaring omission: headsets Notice it’s headsets plural. You probably have one or two already but now you’re going to have 4 seats. If you expect to fly full house often, get some good ones. If you don’t expect to fly with 4 people, you’ll still want to pick up a couple cheap new or used headsets to have on hand when the occasion occurs. Maybe some life jackets for flight over water. Emergency blanket (the aluminum foil ones that don’t take any space). Dip stick for fuel measurement.
  3. Looks like you’ve got a UFO in your pump…
  4. @carusoam might have an enlightening insider perspective
  5. I like the Ryobi It has rotating scrubbing brushes on the end so it allows me to give the floor carpets and baggage area a good cleaning similar to a home floor vac https://www.ryobitools.com/products/details/33287200276
  6. We’ve got another fly in coming up. Sunday 4/28/24 KRDG 1PM. NJ99s, Midatlantic pilots, NJ Mooney Pilots joint lunch.
  7. ^ For those of you wondering if the unicorn really exists, there's proof I'm not making it up and giving false promises. @carusoam resurrected from the depths of the mooneyspacedom. He will be at Central Jersey for this fly in. Will you? Based on the private responses I've been getting, expecting a pretty big turn out.
  8. For your entertainment and viewing pleasure, I will be presenting Anthony @carusoam on display at the Dean of Mooneyspace Lunch Fly In at 47N Central Jersey airport at noon on Saturday 4/20/24. Free autographs on a first come first serve basis. You might even have the opportunity to buy him lunch. $5.35 100LL self serve. Park on the main ramp and a very short walk out of the airport to the restaurant on the corner of the road leading into the airport. Don't let the name "Pizza 'n Pasta" fool you. This place has Stromboli's, Calzone's, and other Italian delights such as Anthony Caruso. Need I say more?
  9. It would make sense to check on the ground against known runway direction prior to takeoff before jumping to any conclusions.
  10. Get an angle of attack indicator and take out the guess work.
  11. I hear they extended the discount so if you didn't get one last year, here's your chance!
  12. Did you pick up your free Mooney today?
  13. Also a tailwind on base. Between the louder wind noise and higher ground speed, it’s easy to misinterpret higher than actual airspeed. Much better to read AOA from an AOA indicator rather than to infer it from a multitude of usually-but-not-always coincident sources (pitch attitude, wind noise, ground speed, airspeed indicator). Add a little heavy on the rudder after the base overshoot and jittery nerves and it’s not a good outcome
  14. Altimeter 30.13. So pressure altitude is about 200ft lower. When ADSB shows 600, should be 800MSL. Still kinda low.
  15. Sounds similar to the one in Canada not too long ago but with a much worse outcome KSGJ 251556Z 07010KT 10SM OVC041 21/16 A3013 10 knot tailwind on base leg would imply about a 74 knot indicated diminishing to 63 in the base to final turn. Popped door not only requires maintaining focus but also carrying additional airspeed. Something about how the air flows or the airspeed indicator indicates appears to require about an additional 10 knots of airspeed to maintain the same angle of attack in my experience. I NEVER let anyone else close my door and it hasn't happened in a decade since.
  16. Did you try Brian? He’s a Mooney owner and used to do a lot of pre-buys. He’s a Mooney guy and last I heard he’s been in DC. I think: @orionflt
  17. Keep in mind some states may require 2 locks and the ignition key acts as the second. NJ requires aircraft spending over 24 hours to have 2 locks: https://www.aopa.org/news-and-media/all-news/2003/march/25/general-aviation-aircraft-two-lock-faqs
  18. I can’t imagine them going for more than $200 when Mooney CBs have so many excellent alternatives
  19. Does your landing light appear one bit brighter from the cabin?
  20. Check controls with master on and off. Check the autopilot.
  21. That was done without my permission or input
