  1. Hello, all - Need to install a replacement baggage door, then have its exterior painted to match its surroundings. Anybody in the Atlanta area who can do both the install and the repaint without having to send the plane to someone else to finish the job? Chuck M.
  2. Kris - Don't see anything in your post, and not in your PM, either. Are you pasting text into your posts from Word? If so, that doesn't work. Chuck M.
  3. "The Step" is any speed above slow flight. Chuck M.
  4. Hello, all - Need to pick up my plane from Annual. Desired flt. would be from 20GA to KRMG, but other Atlanta-area airports would be fine. Happily pay for all gas. Chuck M.
  5. Perhaps the 3-bladed prop is stealing a few knots in cruise... Chuck M.
  6. That's yer problem raht there, Vern! Don't use Word to compose your posts. Use the Mooneyspace message box itself, or paste in text from a text-only app like Notepad. Chuck M.
  7. Saw through-the-prop samples from a GoPro HD camera. Was not impressed. Chuck M.
  8. Best I've been able to find is the newest version of the NFlightCam, from Nflightcam.com. It's based on the Contour+, but handles prop artifacts better than the Contour+.
  9. Quote: N4352H Byron and George beat me to it. I would add if you have made improvements and you have a strong attachment to the AC you could become easily dissappointed. I would also buy Quciken and keep track of every dime. There is a partnership available locally in an old Luscombe. It was a highly eveolved financial enterprise...balance sheets, P & L, monthly statments...etc. Btw, how did you end up doing cylinders at 800 600 hours? Seems a little low and I am always on the lookout for indiosyncicies.
  10. Tim - First question: I dunno... Second question: CAV Aerospace recommends running it at least once a month. Chuck M. '91 Bravo
  11. There's a reason Warren Buffet named his corporate jet "Unjustifiable". Chuck M.
  12. The reason Norman is this interested in the discrepancies is obvious to me, based on my college Flight Testing classes. The only people who mention "position error" are current or former test pilots. Chuck M.
  13. That is funny, Jeff. I was coming back into PDK that same day, from Lake Lanier, and had Tower send me way off to the left to avoid a Duchess off to my right. I finally had to do a big S turn so that I could tuck in behind him/her. I had to pull throttle way back and throw out the boards to fit in. It's hard to be humble. Chuck M. '91 Bravo
  14. If you want a Mooney-savvy CFII, you'll be money ahead by flying to Willmar, MN and engaging Bruce Jaeger. Or fly him down to Tennessee. One day with him will give you a very solid foundation upon which you can build your Instrument skills. Chuck M. '91 Bravo
  15. Trimmed *down* ?!! HA! Chuck M.
  16. Hello, all - Just finished BFR with Bruce Jaeger, of Jaeger Aviation, Inc. in Willmar, MN. B E S T flight instruction I ever received. PERIOD. Highly recommend him for any flight or ground instruction needs. I was having a terrible time unlearning old habits after a 22-year layoff from flying. My landings were scaring away local instructors. I went to Bruce in desperation, and he whipped me into shape. :-) Now I feel safe and confident. If he could resurrect *my* corroded piloting skills, I'm certain he could help any pilot. Chuck M. '91 Bravo
  17. Not my words, but worth repeating: The smart pilot learns from his or her own mistakes. The wise pilot learns from other pilots' mistakes. Chuck M.
  18. My bird is at Stockmar/Earl Small, Jr. field (20GA) in Villa Rica. Don Maxwell has a lot of 'corporate knowledge' in his shop - I would trust him implicitly. I am deciding between Joey Cole and Don Maxwell. Yes, 3 hours is a long way to go... This will be my first annual after purchase, so I don't think there are many 'gotchas' to be found. The pre-buy/annual was a $12,000 affair. Chuck M.
  19. Just spoke with Joey Cole yesterday. He's pretty busy right now - will get worse toward the end of this month. Epps Aviation's rate is $105 an hour - spendy. Don't know about Wilmar - it's not run by Bruce Jaeger anymore. Have you thought of Don Maxwell in Longview, TX? Chuck M.
  20. Tony Pyne said: Example, I see 2500 airframe hour planes with 1500 hours. It is apparent it has been sitting and I would rather see that someone has gone through the engine recently. Recently would depend on how often it was flown in the last year. Tony - I'm still confused by this. A 2500-hour airframe has... 2500 hours on it. Are you mixing SMOH hours with AF hours? How do you know the aircraft has been sitting a lot? Chuck M.
  21. Tony - What do you mean by this: "Airframe, Not crazy about too high or too low unless an overhaul was recent" Recent overhaul?? Chuck M.
