I had the plane listed with a broker since Thanksgiving and he wanted me to lower the price... He didn't really do a whole lot so I figured I would list it here and see if I get any hits...

Yea its the same plane! I think I paid to much but its a nice plane... Im taking a loss on it. I would like to keep it and upgrade, but the wife wants bigger and faster and another child. So Im looking at an Bonanza A36. I fig the happier she is the more places I'll be able to fly.

When Did You Buy Your First Airplane?

Man at 19-20 I could barely afford to eat off the dollar menu at Wendys... I thought I was young buying my first plane M20E at age 30... -

Quote: 201er What do you think of just getting the pilot yoke done? Is it half us much? I was originally thinking of re-powdercoating both of mine but it's only the pilot yoke that's bad. Maybe I can get the pilot yoke done in leather for $300 and leave the copilot yoke (which is very rarely used) as is.

Man I was taught 500' feet AGL gear up 25 squared.... Lean at 3000' Im gonna have to start climbing full foward!

Well Im new to the Garmin 430. I'm working on my IFR rating, but with very limited avionics its making it difficult. I really dont know what all goes into getting and having one installed. When looking on ebay what do I need to look for? I have a 65 m20E, do I need a 24V or 28V? I assumed I would sell my back up Terra radio, and use my KX 155 as backup, but Now I'm thinking it would be better to sell the KX 155 because I could get more money for it. Opinions? Any advice would greatly be appreciated! Any recomendations on a place to do the install in the Dallas TX area? I've attatched a photo of my current panel.

Im in your same boat! I got the sportys and flew through it but I need to go back and go through it again. I also took a night course at my local airport. Then I had my annual come up and need a top overhaul so now its been 2 months since Ive done anything. Good Luck! I know Ill get my rating eventually, just hoping its sooner then later!

Bad Elf or XGPS150 Universal Bluetooth GPS Receive
trjymr replied to panther1400's topic in General Mooney Talk
I have an E model and mount my ipad on the copilot side, and Im still allowed full foward elavator, not on the pilot side though. For anyone interested: I Jailbroke my ipad at jailbreakme.com through safari and then bought a gps app called BTstack GPS for 5 dollars and now can use any gps with it and it works great. If your familiar with Jailbreak this is the easiest jailbreak Ive ever seen. If your not, its extremly easy! The downside is you have to have firmware 4.3.3 and if you update your ipad through itunes you lose the jailbreak. -
Man these yokes look good!!! I have a '65 E whats a general price to have this done? And I love my Zulu headset! I bought an original set of Bose for my wife and I prefer the Zulu any day of the week.

As far as mounts I like this one http://www.themountdepot.com/RAM_HOL_TAB3U_p/ram-hol-tab3u.htm I havent actually got to use it in the plane yet but I like that you can have a case or sleeve (even an otterbox) on your ipad and still use it. I also got the yoke mount to go along with it.

I fly a 65E model and am considering moving up to a 201. In generally how much faster and more fuel burn should I expect?

Heres a link to sportys that has some for sale http://www.sportys.com/source/features/search/search.cfm?catalog=PilotShop&keywords=portable+air+conditioner Ive never used it, so if you do get one let me know how it works.

Well Im determined to get my IR in 2011 too! Dont have much time in the plane, but I did buy the DVD set from sportys for $265. Im not really a good book learner so I thought this would be better for me. So far im about 1/3 of the way through and seems to be going good. I'm hoping to have my written out of the way soon and hit the sky...

I just bought and '65 E and heres what I pay. 2000 Ins no complex time and only 50 hr total time, 175 month Hangar, So far Ive had to buy a vacum pump and a new battery and a little bit here and there matience maybe a 1000 dollars total. My mechanic told me 1500 for first annual and 1200 after that (I havent had an annual yet so not 100% on that) Oil change would cost 50 plus oil, but I do it myself so its around 40-50 bucks in oil. I bought a little handheld GPS and paid for a lifetime subscription so I think that was around 1000. I feel like im forgetting something but I dont think I am. I had an 06 Corvette (dream car) and gave it up for the Mooney and prolly pay 100 bucks more a month after everything is said and done. Good Luck! As much as I miss my vette, I'd make the trade again in a heart beat! I still cant believe I own my own airplane, and its a MOONEY!

Quote: docket So, I propose that we all hook up on a Saturday or Sunday in Brenham for lunch which is a destination probably all of you have been to. Probably with the holiday's it may not be the best time over the next couple of weeks. Let me know who is game.

I had to go from Dallas to Houston and back to Dallas to pick up my daughter for christmas morning, with 700 foot ceilings I had to drive, so a 3 1/2 hour plane ride turned into an 8 hour car drive... Happy blue skies to you guys out on the west coast though LOL

Im also interested in hearing part two... My then girlfriend now fiance was told "I'll buy you a ring after I get a Mooney" and she waited, so I popped the question a couple weeks ago, she said yes. But I'd like to get a newer faster Mooney one day and thats not a very popular subject... LOL

Mine was about 3 then 2.5 from KLXV-T59-KHQZ. If I remember right we averaged about 120kts gs, bad winds! I dont know how you guys do 5 and 6 hours... Guess Im rookie cause I was TIRED I dont think I could go as long as some of you. Im just over 100 hours total and about 40 in my E model...(which I love!!!)
