  1. I have the ATC from anywhere maps and have had problems updating it. I contacted their customer service but they were no help at all. I saw the DUO and really want to get one and use my ATC as a backup but with all the problems I have had and the problems I see others have I just dont know. I also dont like having anything mounted on the yoke. Does anyone know where or if you can panel mount the DUO and if so would that help with the glare? Any advice would be welcomed and ill repost if I decide to get one.

  3. Hey Dan I was kinda in the same situation as you. I have about 70 total hours now, 20 or so have been in the last 2 months since I bought a '65 M20E. I never really enjoyed the Cessna trainers that I flew so never really considered buying one, but that was my only option for renting and building time. Finance wise I couldnt afford a 201 or a 252 so I went with an E model and I dont regret it one bit. I do agree with jax88 though it wont take long and youll be thinking man I wish I had an even faster Mooney. The way I look at it though, I have something to shoot for in the future. If you can afford to go with a 201 or even bigger, dont be scared just be patient. You might spend a few more hours with an instructor but youll get it down eventually. Thats my 2 cents anyways
  4. Skyatty Im in the Dallas area and always looking for a good Bar B Que. So just curious where you all went?
  5. Thanks for all the advice guys
  6. Awsome pictures! I just bought an E model about 2 months ago and im pretty low time VFR pilot. Did you have any problems flying over the mountains? Im here in the Dallas area and want to plan a trip to the Phoenix AZ area. I also have no Oxygen so I might not be able to fly over all the mountains.
  7. OH Hard Eights! Hit them up just last Fri! Good stuff. And I fig it was the servos, I have a mechanic thats gonna look at it for me, but the airports giving him a hard time so I have to wait untill I get my own hangar. How much did it cost you to swap out all the servos?
  8. So Ive had my bird right at month and I love it! Im still waiting for a hangar and hopefully should have one soon! My autopilot/wingleveler isnt working right now so Im hoping to get that going once I get a hangar. I just bought myself a Lightspeed Zulu headset so im looking foward to my flight with it! I havent named my bird but my dogs just had puppies and I decieded to keep one so I named him Mooney! Flying is just a dream come true, and flying a Mooney is just..... no words to describe it! I hope I never wake up from this dream come true.
  9. I just bought a M20E and just finished my check out with Josh at Mesquite (KHQZ) He doesnt have a lot of Mooney time but hes a really good instructor. If you find a good one in the area let me know, but if you just need to get checked out he can help you out.
  10. I know the feeling! I just bought a 65 M20E and brought her home yesterday. Im low time and no retract time, so im still in the process of getting checked out. I love it though! It only took me 3 landing to forget GUMPS. I actually had the gear down but not locked. Thats what instructors are for though right. That wont happen again though.
