  4. Thanks Mark!
  5. Hi Mark, I just had a PMA 8000-BT installed in my M20R. I did not find out about the new PMA 450 until after the installation was completed. I picked up the plane from the avionics shop last week. The 8000-BT is an awesome panel but I would be interested in trading up for the new PMA 450. Are you able to give any trade in deal for those of us that just had an 8000 series installed? Thanks and Welcome to Mooneyspace, Patrick
  6. What's your fuel flow in that configuration?
  7. Dan Garzelloni at http://www.milehighmoney.com Great guy! Loves Mooneys!
  8. I've talked with Jimmy and David at All American. I may end up going in that direction, but thought I would post my plane for sale here first. I'm looking seriously at N94MR for sell by beskra. http://mooneyspace.com/topic/11680-fs-1994-mooney-ovation-m20r-310hp-conversion/
  9. I am moving up to an M20R or M20S.
  10. I am deleting post for now. I may be turning sale over to a broker or possible keeping the plane for now. Please PM or email plarry15@gmail.com for further info. Thanks
  11. We tested it first. Internal battery was not holding charge very well and needed to be replaced anyway. Thanks to everyone for the help!
  12. Yep, Cruiser was right! It was the PFD switch! Working fine now! Thanks!
  13. Internal battery was replaced on Friday. My avionics guy was sure he had solved the problem. Aspen was working fine during ground check. On climb out today, voltage into Aspen dropped down to 6v. Voltage across rest of bus maintained 13.2v. Aspen switched to battery backup. During 20 minute flight voltage into Aspen varied from 3-12v. It never returned to above 12.8v and stayed on battery. Problem is that voltage into Aspen only drops when in the air. He was not able to reproduce the voltage problem on the ground. I'll have him check the regulator as Oscar suggested. More to follow......
  14. We think it's the internal battery. Replacement cost approx. $175. New battery is on order and should be in this week. I'll post another update after we get the new battery installed.
  15. Thanks guys!!! I check it out and report back!
  16. On climb out yesterday I got a battery warning countdown indication. The display dimmed and the warning box appeared displaying "Battery level in 15s". The countdown timer would start and then disappear. After a few seconds, the warning box would reappear and start counting down again. Then it actually indicated "on Batt 60% remaining" then disappeared again. Next time it indicated " on Batt 70% remaining" then disappeared. I did not notice any low voltage indication or discharge on the ammeter. After about 3 or 4 minutes( seemed like a lot longer) the warnings stopped. I had considered returning to the airport, but when the warnings stopped I decided to continue. The remainder of the short 30 minute flight was uneventful as was the return flight later in the evening. Anyone have similar experience? Electrical gremlins? Could the recent extreme cold temperatures have anything to do with this? Aircraft is stored in unheated hangar. Thanks-- Patrick
  17. Great videos! What mounts are you guys using?
  18. Muncie Aviation at KMIE is a Mooney service center. I use them for annuals and avionics. They do quality work.
  19. Thanks for the review. I'm looking to step up to an M20R in the next year or so. I was considering several different brokers for help selling my F model. Maybe I'll give Nick a call. Do they work on set fee or percentage commission? Patrick
  20. We've had arctic blast/ snow storm/ arctic blast every week since the holidays. Today was the first time I've been able to fly in about 5 weeks. Thanks for sharing your story! I'll still get it checked out, but I bet that explains it.
  21. '74 F It was mid 20s today. Temp has been as low -15F in the past week. Plane kept in non heated hangar with preheater plugged in. Donuts are original. Gear felt like they came up.
  22. My work schedule and the weather finally aligned so that I could go fly this afternoon. The plan was to go fly some practice approaches. After I rotated and had positive rate of climb I retracted the gear followed by the takeoff flaps. The gear warning horn then began sounding. This is the horn that usually sounds if the throttle is retarded below 12" manifold. I also noticed that the amber "gear up" light on the annunciator panel was not lit. The gear felt like they were up and the floor indicator did not show the gear still down. I notified departure that I wanted to return to the airport. As I turned to intercept the final approach course, the amber "gear up" light came on and the horn stopped. Even if the gear did not retract all the way, I would not think that would cause the warning horn to sound. After I dropped the gear, the indicator on the floor indicated gear down, but the green panel light did not come on. I felt the gear come down and proceeded to land without incident. I searched "Sonalert" and gear horn in the forums and could not find a similar incident. There are three "horn alarms" that I am aware of: stall, gear up/ throttle back, altitude from Aspen. My mechanic is going to investigate. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks-- Patrick
