  1. Assume it would cost around 2.5AMU more to go with the MT. Would it be worth it?
  2. How much did it cost you?
  3. Let me know when you come we can hook up, as far as XM I don't think it will work up here, at least the radio part don't in my pickup. There are a few moonies up here, and I hear the do some of the gravel strips, most places have a pretty good runway. Many with large asphalt runways. I'm in palmer, PAAQ.
  4. People that love and buy mooneys are just a better class, not like all the others!LOL Thanks for this site.
  5. Ok had a prop strike, one shop says put the strait blade hartzell back on and one says go with the machully scimitar prop, one says go with the MT composite scimitar. Don't want to put out a bunch more money on this, and it would have to be three blades, I use the airplane in very high DA, 11K isn't rare. So what would you put on if it were you. Oh yeah if it wasn't bad enough, partner is thinking of selling, and I can't buy him out!!(don't have enough income) Soory about the spelling, but in a hurry to look up.
  6. I had to part with my 67F back in Utah and I am going through withdralls and was wondering if anyone one here is around Palmer AK, I have 460+hrs in a F. Looking for someone thats not flying much and would be willing to talk about letting me rent or something.
  7. Thanks for the giggle HRM, could you send that old mooney emblem to me? I wana get a tat just like that, I love mooneys, wish they would do more on sand bars.
  8. I have a lot of time in a 67F, had to move to AK for work and looking for any Mooney owners up here, have seen a few on the ramp, but I'm a little hesitant to call based on the n#'s from the FAA.
  9. OK flame suit on, If the J model only has a useful of around 814, why would you choose it over an F, mine has 1025. Cruise of 140ish with the three blade prop, WOT 2400 at 10.5 11.5ish.
  10. Quote: JimR I'd probably land gear down unless I was landing with a minimal descent rate in water or some similar surface. I was taught that in water you will nose over and be on your back if you land with the gear down, no matter what your speed is. I just don't like the fact of having something for the gear to grab is a good idea, screw the plane save your passengers. Land with the gear up and you will simply slide to a stop. What do you say????????????????????/
  11. If you loose power over something besides a very good landing site, would you land gear up or down?
  12. I get around 160-165 MPH, running at 75 ROP at 9500
  13. Quote: mooniac58 Indeed. The path to socialism and eventually communism is a slow, slow process. They will gradually take away all of our freedoms until we are prisoners in our own country. Definately write your representatives and complain. Better yet, perhaps it is time again to start a civil war in this country and take it all back. ;-)
  14. I know how you feel, I had a gen fail and then the new one did to replaced the regulator and the gen, worked since.
  15. Me and my dad will be there, hope to meet some of you there. John 9569M
  16. I second Jim, your doing a great service to us all. Thanks, John
  17. Thanks airkraft, the reason for asking is I lean to 50-100 ROP, and when I went into annual I found that all my plugs were all most plugged up. My guy told me to run at max egt, thats where I got 1475 or so thats what I will see at around 9.5-12.5K.(yea kinda big range but 9.5 is my low and 12.5 is my high until I go for ox) If I understand most that at 9.5-12.5 I cant make more than 75%, so in theory I can't blow my motor with the red knob. (I bet I can though, but don't want to) But thinking that way why wouldn't you want max egt? Side note, during run up I do my mixture at 1800, what you all using, had some instructors say that if you don't lean to max power you can't get max power, others say its hard on the motor and that running up at say 2700 is very bad. I have read lots on this just looking for what others use, in high DA. In never fly below 2200 and thats probably a dozen flights out of 241hrs last year. Am I too picky in thinking I can find a better more efficient way to run my motor?
  18. Quote: N57039 Definitely an A&P task. The maintenance manual should address the implications and method for doing this, if it is allowed at all. (I would guess that it is not allowed.)
