  1. I can honestly say I hope MooneySpace can get this figured out! The real Mooneygirl. Let's get back to talking Mooneys....
  2. Jolie This remembers me an event that occurred to me when I was about 3 year old baby when I just mastered to relief myself outside the diapers. We were on a beach party when I was proudly relieving myself in front of a tree. A baby girl comes by and asked me how can I do it. Unable to explain it to her, probably due to my limited vocabulary I pulled her diaper down to show how she can do it. That's when I noticed there was a difference. This is my earliest memory recall. BTW I still do it in front of a tree (when nobody is looking). You don't know what you are missing. Piloto José
  3. You know secretly I have always wanted to be a male, just for a few days to see what it is like.... but this is a bit strange to see me posting and it is really Jose! We are headed to the MAPA Convention in Colorado Springs tomorrow! Should be a fun event for all. Male or Female, get your Mooney there if you can!
  4. Quote: Amelia I'm still wondering why the 'sex' designation is germaine to this forum. If this is a dating site, we maybe ought to post our preferences in companionship instead. (For the record, and in the interests of full disclosure, I'm a grandmother. The grandfather in question has been my favorite right-seater for an awful lot of decades. Not planning to housebreak another puppy any time soon.)
  5. It would be bad to have a MooneyGirl named Jose! HA.
  6. My profile was changed to a female named mooneygirl (Jolie). My original name was Piloto (José) (male) but somehow got changed to mooneygirl. How do I get this fix? Piloto José
  7. That is a very nice summary of what our vision is with our little group. "Share the Passion" "What have you done for GA Lately?" Our slogans to try to help keep folks engaged! http://www.MooneyAmbassadors.com
  8. Dave, hope your back heals real soon. I hear the Livermore event was a hoot, and Bob did a great job as point person. He was even interviewed by the announcer and the radio! Hope to see you at AOPA, or perhaps the Nut Tree on October 16th if you can! Thanks for the good wishes for Mitch and I. We are just trying to do our best.
  9. Thank you. Mitch is so much more than the man behind the curtain. We are such a team. It seems very odd to be receiving this. We do work very well together. Except though when we are wrestling to see who gets to fly a leg! HA Anyway, we are humbled and thrilled. It helps keep our brand out there too!
  10. I received a call on my cell phone from Craig Fuller the President of AOPA on Wednesday. I think I was a bit shocked when he introduced himself! He explained that he was calling to tell me that AOPAs Board of Directors unanimously voted to award me the Joe Crotti Award for promotion of General Aviation and GA Airports. Joseph R. Crotti, 71, former director of the California Department of Aeronautics. He was a strong advocate for civilian use of military air bases in California and throughout the West. Crotti served as aeronautics director under Govs. Ronald Reagan and Edmund G. (Jerry) Brown Jr. He also served for 15 years as Western regional representative for the 325,000-member Aircraft Owners and Pilots Assn. When he retired, the association honored him by creating the Joe Crotti Trophy for California General Aviation Advocacy. The award will be made annually to a Californian who carries forward Crotti's advocacy of the most effective use of all airfields. He said that what we are doing with the Mooney Ambassadors, and the Friends of Oceano Airport is just spectacular. I told him that I didn't think I was doing anything that anyone else couldn't do, but I was stunned and honored. I also said that the award really should be for both Mitch and me. We are a team in all of this. The Crotti Award will be presented at the AOPA Summit on Saturday morning the 13th at 10:00 a.m. I am really very surprised and just wanted to tell you all the happy news. If you are going to be at the Summit, then please come by and say hello! 17. Hello there, wondering how many Mooney lovers are coming to the AOPA Summit in Long Beach. As mentioned in the previous post, Mitch and I will be offering a multi-media presentation for CalPilots at their annual meeting on Saturday at the Summit. We were asked by AOPA to be panelists on Thursday afternoon at 3:30 on advocacy for GA and GA Airports. If you are planning on attending, please stop by and say hello.
  18. Hello Mooney Lovers: Here is the video link for Lake in the Sky 2010 at South Lake Tahoe [or Taco, as I said on the radio one time!] Here are three fun events coming up this weekend. If you would like to attend just shoot me an email. We better fly those airplanes while the weather is still good! Edenton, NC Northeastern Regional Airport, September 25, 2010 Point Person: Amelia Reiheld sure would love to have a gathering of Mooney Ambassadors there, so all you Mooney drivers, plan to join us in beautiful historic , for a fly-in/community open house at Northeastern Regional Airport. It'll probably run from 10-5 or so. We hope to have area military big-iron, both static and fly-over demos, RC demos, food vendors, free airplane rides, exhibits from charitable flight organizations, etc. Camping and airplane parking are (as always) free, though you'll need to bring your own tie-downs. If camping and fair-food isn't your style, reserve a car with Enterprise, and book a room in one of the wonderful B&Bs in and around Edenton. There are some excellent restaurants, too. If Mama would rather tour the colonial historic sites and shop than talk airplanes, we'll find a ride into town. Mariposa Airport EAA event, September 25, 2010 The Mariposa Airport is a gateway to the beautiful Yosemite area. This fly-in was organized to highlight the importance of this GA airport. Please come and show your support and represent for our company. Point Person: Ron McBride. Tehachapi Celebration of Flight, September 25th, 2010 Breakfast served 7 am to 10 am. Free airplane rides for kids aged 8-17. Raffle and door prizes. Aircraft manufacture displays, automobile cruise-in, bake sale, tethered hot air balloon rides. Point Person: Austin Kalb
  19. Here is the video from our fun [windy and cold!] day at South Lake Tahoe. The event organziers have asked us to return again next year. The said that we "made" the event. Now how's that for a compliment!
  20. Here are two California options for next weekend: If you would like to attend just shoot an email to: MooneyAmbassadors@charter.net and let us know which you will be attending. Your RSVP means a lot to those planning for parking. Mariposa Airport EAA event, September 25, 2010 The Mariposa Airport is a gateway to the beautiful Yosemite area. 21. Hey Bob, I have a couple of "yes" responses and four "maybes". Hope you guys have a blast. Let's fly those Mooneys!
  22. Scott, Wonderful! You are truly engaged. That is awesome. I wish more folks had your passion.
  23. One thing we need to keep in mind is that I am sure representatives from the factory are reading this thread. Imagine how hard it is for them to be viewing this, trying to to their very best work, and yet be tied by policies that are at best, behind the times. I don't know about drum beating and flag waving, but what I do know is that we can support our company through these difficult times and remain optimistic. Savvy businessmen? A bit sexist. Perhaps we need another female CEO at Mooney. What have you all done for Mooney or for GA lately? What have you done to be part of the solution? Instead of grumbling and being negative, perhaps we can turn our strong feelings into supportive actions.
  24. What we decided to do was purchase an Ovation that had been used for a business machine. It had a lot of hours on it. With what we saved on the purchase cost, we were able to put into a kitty for overhaul when needed. After attending Mike Bush's workshop on TBO being a state of mind. We felt more comfortable. Mike says if it has a bolt on it, it is an accessory. If you need to replace an accessory you do it. Otherwise keep the bottom end happy. The Ovation is our business machine and allows us more payload. Don't let a higher amount of engine hours freak you out it all other indicators are strong: LOP, oil analysis, wobble test, borescope. For our needs, we decided the Bravo or the Ovation. The only Eagle we were comfortable looking at was a Screaming Eagle and there were none in our price point, which is very similiar to what yours is.
  25. That is a good point Tony. One further point on Mooney Factory service is that statistics show for the months of June and July that the factory was able to turn around a part within 24 hours. That includes order, fabrication, and shipping. The factory is doing more and more insurance service work [when our owners forget to put the gear down and the like] and has gained an excellent reputation for quality and timely service. I don't really think that being concerned that your airplane will be locked in a hangar is valid. Yes the production line is in hibernation, but the company continues to support its fleet. What can we do as individuals to help support our company? Check out our Mooney Ambassadors! Fly your airplane! We are there, trying to keep the name in the forefront. Because we all know that Mooney is an American legend.
