Right now we are in the #MessyMiddle. We will persevere, recover and rebuild. Looking forward to Tuesday night's Social Flight Live episode where I will go over my Big Three psychological and physical tips to get through the pandemic. PS: at some point in an interview I usually get tongue tied... too many ideas coming to the gate at once. Listen in and see if I do! Perfectly imperfect we all are [in best Yoda voice]. http://www.socialflight.com/event-details.php -

Here is the link to my AOPA interview. It is sad the video quality is poor but they said with everyone on the internet it is the best we could get. I hope it is helpful -
Hey all I am glad the article I wrote for Flying Magazine is no online. It was super fun to write and I hope it is helpful for those getting ready [hopefully someday soon] for a check ride. https://www.flyingmag.com/story/training/nail-your-check-ride/

Hello All, Many of us who are used to presenting around the country have transferred our seminars, workshops, and resources online during the COVID19 crisis. I will be working with AOPA Live, Social Flight Live, and more. I will use this thread to help get the word out on all sorts of great online resources for us all. Come learn Jolie's "Big Three" when it comes to breaking out of stress responses. These opportunities will give you concrete steps to take during these very stressful times. I will post links as soon as available.

CPL Solo Practice while sheltering?
mooneygirl replied to Boilermonkey's topic in General Mooney Talk
I have been working on mine! No reason to be cooped up. There was a lot of traffic the other day when I was working on my 180 power off landings. Also good to keep up on YouTube channels that have content on the commercial: Finer Points, Bold Method, AOPA, Rod Machado, King etc. I spoke to a DPE and, of course, his schedule has been put on hold. But he suggested that I continue to practice 8s on pylons, steep turns, chandelles, etc. I also have my home sim set up, though it is a lot easier to shoot approached on it then check my progress on the chandelle. Having X-plane shoot Foreflight to my ipad helps with geo referencing and track log. Good luck to you. Although I feel like the instrument rating was the hardest [and best for me as a pilot] the commercial is going to open up a world of opportunities. Of course, I took my best friend with me. -
My dear friend Cory Robin shot this video in 4K for those of us pilots who need to relax and refresh during this stressful time. Although it isn't a Mooney I thought you might like to shoot it to your flat screen in 4K and relax. Cory co-founded the Flying Cowboys, the low n slow, STOL group. I was going to fly part way with the group to OSH, but that would require having my gear and flaps down. LOL. Just kidding. Check the video out. It is pretty awesome.

I love this a hundred different ways.... of course Mooney Lucas Aviation Puppy has to be in consideration.... 400 hours in the Mooney, only thrown up once in the airplane [and considering the company I was keeping, I should have too]. Always greets folks with a smile [at Oceano Airport or any other event we are at] and is an all around good guy.

If you ever wanted to be an Imagineer at Disney, you could take this course online: https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2019/08/walt-disney-imagineering-partners-with-khan-academy-to-bring-you-imagineering-in-a-box/ Heck, it is something to do! We are all getting creative, especially for those of us under a Shelter in Place order. Don't forget that now might be a great time to check out an online flight school to start on your instrument [yes it really makes you a better pilot], commercial [join me for the fun] or other rating. https://kingschools.com/

A week ago I was running the LA Marathon, today I am sequestered studying for my upcoming commercial check ride. We are so lucky to fly the best airplanes in the world.

Top on my list would be the scholarships through AOPA, WAI [Women in Aviation International] and the 99s. All have student memberships available which gives you access to the scholarships. Depending on what area she lives in, she could check out the local 99s chapter. In our little chapter we give out $5000 per year.

Recommendations for Paint shop -Northern / Central California
mooneygirl replied to VetRepp's topic in General Mooney Talk
ArtCraft Paint, hands down. Tell them that you were referred by Jolie or Mooney Girls. Teresa is the owner and daughter Esmeralda is a manager. Here's what I love about ArtCraft in addition to the great paint job. 1) They have painted nearly 100 Mooneys since I first met them in 2005. They understand the intricacies involved. 2) They have a great commitment to philanthropy in General Aviation through support of airport days, airport events and charities 3) They want to get your job right. They have contracts with large corporate customers... Clay Lacy Jets, US Border Patrol etc, but they care about us little guys too. 4) Competitive pricing that includes 3-5 hours of body work. 5) I love that after nearly 10 years people go ga ga over my paint 6) Two Artcraft Mooneys on cover of Flying Magazine to boot.
