  1. Yes, Skytec is the next step, but…$$$
  2. The problem is one of the “missing” screws is actually sheared off, down in the hole. I’m not sure I can drill and easy out my way out of that. No telling how many years ago it sheared off.
  3. Can anyone recommend who I can contact for screws for my 24v Electro Systems starter? Two were missing and the other two backed out 1/4”, leading to a slow crank.
  4. Nothing is foolproof for a sufficiently talented fool.
  5. That’s a much better scenario than a Big G problem.
  6. Initial problem fixed by deleting BT connection on the iPad and doing a fresh connection.
  7. I have an Aera 760 connected to GTX345 via BT for traffic and weather. I have no way of getting flight plan to/from Aera.
  8. This is exactly how I operate as well.
  9. No Flightstream, just BT between iPad and G3X. GPS source set to external and I never touch it.
  10. I just checked and unfortunately, Karl isn’t volunteering here today. I’m trying to figure when I was here before and the landmark I can use is it was when the SR-71 flew in. I have pictures of it still parked on the runway the week after it landed. I was actually working here in the compressor test tunnel when I was employed by Pratt & Whitney. If I recall correctly, there were only 2 buildings here then.
  11. Yesterday, twice, I received Pitch Servo fault messages appeared at start up. Both times, the fault was cleared by cycling the AP. I was really hoping I could stretch out the time before my servo replacement, just to have more warranty life, but might have to give in. Chuck
  12. I synch from the iPad to G3X and select “Activate” on the G3X and it transfers to the GTN automagically. I don’t ever change the Internal/External flag in the G3X. I am running Garmin Pilot on the iPad, if that makes a difference. I’d be happy to take and send you a video, but that will have to wait. Chuck
  13. I’ll give all of try on Monday when we fly home. Thanks! Chuck
  14. We flew up to Dayton this morning and everything worked perfect, nothing out of the ordinary. When we fired up to leave, the iPad would connect to the GTX345, but it refuses to connect to the G3X. I looked at the BT page and tried to force a connection there, but nothing worked. I also tried to control my phone but nothing there either. If you’ve run into this and found a fix, I’d like to hear about it. Chuck
  15. I recently had a $15 landing fee from a local Georgia FBO and they said they needed my card to put on file. When leaving, I asked for a receipt and was more than slightly perturbed to find an additional 3% surcharge for using a credit card. Heaven forbid they miss out on credit card processing fees on a charge for providing no service.
  16. Coarse thread, so not AN.
  17. You might do better moving this to a more relevant forum. Currently it is in Bug Reports and Suggestions.
  18. Correct, the physical blades, one on each side. Since I am losing VOR signal when the station is directly off the left wing, +/- 20° fore and aft, I’m thinking the left half of the antenna may be bad and I lose signal when the right half is in the shadow of the vertical stab. I’m assuming each half has a BNC connector on it and if they are interchangeable, I’ll swap halves and see if my problem moves to the right side. Interestingly enough, I successfully flew this same exact DME arc on Wednesday the 12th and didn’t have any signal problems.
  19. This morning I was setting up to practice a DME arc but when switching over from GPS to VOR, the G3X was saying NO VOR. After attempting to fix it, we abandoned the arc and turned away, and then the VOR showed up. We started again, went back to get set up a bit differently, got on the arc and bingo, nothing. We switched over to VOR 2 and the same thing. Do the VOR blades ever die? We didn’t troubleshoot with the station off of the right wing, just the left, so I’m assuming it’s just the left blade. Would there be any reason you can’t swap left for right to see if the problem follows the antenna? Chuck
  20. Glad to see you back on MooneySpace!
  21. If you let me use your card, I can try it out over here and you could let me know if you get the points.
  22. With more lead on top of the stab too.
  23. 4% straight would be great. AOPA has good rebates, but anything over the base 1% is considered “bonus” points and that is capped at $100/year.
  24. I’ll look into taking it over to Joe Cole to check rigging and go from there. Thanks
