  1. I would like a video showing the ammeter whilst this noise is occurring, then pull the gear breaker to see if the noise stops
  2. Crowdsourcing seems to be a possibility here, maybe Mooney could find a dedicated site of Mooney enthusiasts and provide financial backing for said website?
  3. my favorite new tool is my Ryobi hand held compressor
  4. Did anyone ever get the data file for3d printing? I saw where he was selling them on evilBay but was out of stock indefinitely!
  5. forecast for friday saturday and sunday is 10 degrees so yeah it gets cold here
  6. I was working on a Honeywell engine in Phoenix outside one January, I foolishly left my wrenches lying in the sun, I believe I got second degree burns when I tried to pick up that wrench! 95 degrees and 95% humidity is nothing like Arizona!
  7. Theres nothing worse than working out on the ramp in 95 degree heat with the sun beating down on you! tools baking in the sun hitting 150 degress F too hot to handle! .....Oh wait laying on the ground in a frozen puddle with the wind whipping snow around your frozen ears whilst your finger tips turn to ice trying to get that last screw in!!! These are the tales of the tie down mechanic oh to be inside a warm toasty hangar this time of year. Heres a PSA " bring your pets in on a cold winters night" With that being said now that the weather has turned cold here in Georgia I will be bring my expensive CONCORDE RG-35AXC PLATINUM SERIES SEALED LEAD ACID AIRCRAFT BATTERY IN FOR THE NIGHT! With battery prices sky high and availability close to NIL I'm going to be extra nice to my battery this winter! What tips do you have for cold weather storage of your Mooney? what can we do to prolong the lives of the damned who sleep outside on tiedown? Happy Holidays!
  8. I have just purchased a sensorcon inspector and plan on utilizing velcro to place it in the cockpit, In your opinion where is the best placement?
  9. I am in the market for a CO2 detector and for many years the only thing available was the scratch and sniff variety, I only call it that because for some reason someone had always scratched at the detector face rendering it useless! I would like the panel mount but as a self avowed CB the $850 price tag causes me pain. Then comes the Sensorcon AV8 and its cousin the Sensorcon inspector (which I believe is the same unit as the AV8) the two sensorcons appear to be the same base unit with different attachments. What detector do you use and what are your preferences?
  10. Archimedes would be proud!
  11. Welcome to Mooneyspace, what model aircraft do you own? I see you just joined have you had the aircraft long?
  12. I hav looked at old manuals new manuals with no success, I cant find the rat socks for the gear either!

  17. ++ @Parker_Woodruff Parker is your guy!
  18. you can buy single wire kits and complete replacements https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/eppages/shieldedharness3.php?clickkey=5239
  19. My general concern was supporting the tail in both directions, but yes essentially shackling the tail to the ground will do it!
  20. Soooo. the intent of my question was to determine if it was feasible to use a come along type hand winch to raise the nose while jacking, I have used a weighted tail stand once but dont have one available at the moment. What I do have is a come-along and a tail tie down ring imbedded in the ground. I think I might give these (see photo) a try.
  21. I have jacked my aircraft once and wanted to learn what others have been doing, I used a 5 gallon bucket of concrete but needed 2 additional lektro tug lead acid batteries to make it work
  22. I’m trying to imagine such a contraption, perhaps you could indulge me with a crude drawing?
  23. I believe I will build a simple portable wooden A frame hoist lifting on the engine lift point and use a come along between the tail tie down and tie down ring, thus distributing the load and providing additional stability and safety. https://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C9BKJA_enUS842US856&hl=en-US&q=a+fram+hoist+wooden&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwi1qYjI-pn7AhWym4kEHQIxAyEQ0pQJegQIBhAB&biw=1024&bih=653&dpr=2#imgrc=unNwC2ubhZAlcM
