  1. So my 20+ Year old hoses need replacing firewall forward, I count 7 hoses on my 75 m20F. I have read the posts about various sources for replacement but as I’m a CB and have the ability to make my own hoses I’m curious what type hoses were originally used? Aeroquip 303,stratoflex 300 what say you gurus of Mooney?
  2. Panel pics please
  3. My first thought exactly, are we trying to cut down on air infiltration or noise or both with the tape. Is carbon monoxide an issue with pre-J models? parts availability sure is!
  4. What’s up with all the duct tape everywhere? It’s literally everywhere, does anyone care to pontificate on the reasoning for sealing every nook and cranny with tape?!
  5. I should have noted that this area was just opened up after sitting for 20 years when the pics were taken, I have subsequently removed copious amounts of “Duct” tape vacuum Ed and cleaned rigorously
  6. Not the best pictures but they are pictures
  7. Kosola and associates based in Albany GA has previously repaired Mooneys They were acquired by Aerospace welding Inc. https://awi-ami.com/awi-acquires-kosola-and-associates they may have capability
  8. My forest had a variety of trees it certainly didn’t look like a farmer planted them!
  9. Today I became a Mooney mechanic! As I lay there under the airplane removing 457 different screws to gain access to the inner workings I found myself marveling at the intricate simplicity of the design. The thought of pk screws vs machine screws kept running through my head, I have never been much of a fan of pk screws but damn they won the day! I think I would actually prefer sheet metal screws in all the belly panels!
  10. First time it ever loaded a picture upside down? I even saved the picture upside down and tried to insert but it was still upside down!?
  11. But does it have a “Go” handle for $436.00?
  12. Yeah I went to the battery box and the box was empty, it wouldn’t have mattered the aircraft hadn’t moved in 15 years! So my dilemma is get the airplane somewhat close to airworthy and able to test the motor
  13. Thanks @M20doc I surmised that was the linkage in question always good to get a second opinion!
  14. Is the view looking up and forward? Does this picture show the aileron linkage?
  15. Just try to go out and buy a new battery! There is no stock available for your typical lead acid wet battery. There is stock for dry batteries but no acid available apparently there’s a worldwide shortage of sulfuric acid. Anybody got any acid they wanna part with? I even thought about using automotive battery acid the thought being that acid is acid but automotive battery acid is 1.265 versus aviation batteries which are 1.285 specific gravity. apparently most of the sulfuric acid for batteries is produced from Chilean zinc.
  16. I’m beginning to think that the only way that you can access 99% of the flight control linkage and landing gear motors is from under the belly panels. It sure would be nice if I had some pictures of aircraft in annual inspection that showed the respective locations of most of the components. I’m going to be tackling the belly panels soon and hope to get a preview of what it looks like.
  17. Well the keys worked in the main entry door and baggage but not the ignition! who wants to send me old keys to try?
  18. 2 keys to start off with, if they work on the main entry door and the ignition then yes I will make four hundred and eleven copies but not yet....
  19. I was able to remove the baggage lock that matched the main entry door lock and have 2 keys made for $17.50 at my local locksmith, I just hope the starter switch is the same...
