  3. I am about to start my annual. One of the items on my fix it list is a new door seal. The reason I want to replace the seal is that if I don't open the door for a month or so the seal gets stuck to the door frame and my pulling the door open pulls the seal loose from the door. I have reglued it a number of times but the seal eventually sticks to the frame and I reglue it again. I think the seal was originally glued to the door with yellow 1300L. Where should I buy the seal? Is there a newer technology glue that I should consider? How big of a pain is it to bond the new seal on? Can the job be done without removing the door? Any words of wisdom will be appreciated! Happy New Year!!
  4. I think that for some reason someone made the hole for the gascolator larger. The hole on my 84 mine is about 1/4 the size of yours.
  5. I just returned from a trip from Vero Beach to Nashville. On the return trip I couldn't get weather on my 750XI or 355. I use FIS-B weather. Just before the trip my 345 was sent back to Garmin for repair. It came back with a clean bill of health. It worked fine on the trip out but didn't work on the trip back. I took my bird back to the avionics shop to fix a 750 com issue. They say that the weather works fine now. What could make that happen? Should I subscribe to Sirrus?
  6. thanks for your post!

  13. I had a 750XI installed in my 201 about 15 months ago. I have been having difficulty hearing center occasionally. The shop that did the install used the original comm antennas and coax. They claim the connections are good. Could this be a coax or antenna issue? Have any MooneySpacers had similar problems with their 750XIs? All advice will be appreciated. Thanks!

  18. I put a new panel in my 201 about a year and a half ago. I had a GFC-500, G3X, 750XI, G5, 355 and a 345 installed with new wiring, switches and circuit breakers. When everything works I love it. I lost the G3X which Garmin replaced with a new unit. I have lost the electric trim, the roll servo and now the pitch servo. Garmin replaced the roll servo and I am now waiting on the pitch servo. The shop that did the install has a good reputation and has worked hard to resolve my problems. I am not sure if it is the install or the parts causing the problems. The major reason I did the upgrade was improved safety and the new technology. Everyone I spoke to about Garmin equipment had nothing but good to say about it. So far my experience has not been that good. I am thankful I was in VFR conditions when the G3X failed. All these issues with less than 40 hours since the install. I heard that Garmin had some issues with their servos. The serial numbers of mine were not in the batch with problems. I was also told that Garmin has a new part number servo witch is better. Has anyone with a GFC-500 had similar problems? How about an information with the new servos? My plane has been in the shop for a long time and I have been driving places instead of flying. Help! Thanks Curt
  19. My wife would like to take a pitch hitter course in our 201 somewhere in Florida. Does anyone have any suggestions who we can contact? We can travel if necessary. Thanks!
  20. I received an email from my insurance company. Their letter was generic stating that my premiums may go up. My policy expires August 31. The underwriter is use is Global. My current policy was $2700. I have about 6000 hours total about 1000 in Mooneys and have commercial, multi, and instrument ratings. Is there someone I should try other than Global? Any suggestions will be appreciated. I am a very young 67. Regards Curt
  21. Yep I was the project engineer and project pilot on the Fury. It would cruise at 185. At most altitudes it would loop from cruise- it also had a great control system and light ailerons. Total blast to fly.
  22. Love it!!! Craig at Scheme Designers is the best in the business and is an awesome person. Looks like it is going 200 knots on the ground!
