  7. I dropped my 201 at Hawk Paint yesterday to have the LoPresti cowling painted that I just installed. Now I am on to the panel upgrade. I want to install a GFC-500, G3X and a G5 in a new panel. I am considering replacing the 530W and KX-155. What should I replace the KX-155 with? How about the 530W? I live in central Florida, can anyone suggest a good install shop with Mooney experience in the south east? What is the removed KAP-150, KX-155 instruments and 530W worth? I am also going to sell the stock cowling and nose gear doors which are in very good shape.Thanks!

  13. Hi We are completing a JPI 930 installation in my 1984 201 s/n 1442. I can't find the shunt for the stock alternator. Can someone tell we where the stock one is mounted? Thanks Curt

  15. My cowl flap control assembly broke right above the threaded portion of the rod that screws into the over center mechanism. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to easily remove and replace the cable assembly? I mean besides finding a friend with small hands!

  18. It draw seems to change constantly. I do not remember the delta. I had the avionics master on. I tried increasing the draw with the pitot heat. It was about 1800 rpm. I just put a new cylinder on and did not want an extended ground run. I broke the cowl flap control during rigging the flaps during the new cowl installation. As soon as I get the new control in I will fly it and see what happens. I will post the results. Thanks
  19. I live in Vero Beach, Florida. I recently retired from the aircraft modification business. It took me two years to find the right Mooney 201. I am very happy with it!
  20. I recently purchased a 1984 M20j. I installed a JPI 930, Whelen nav/strobes, BoomBeam and the LoPresti Cowling. The 930 is awesome. I removed the stock engine gages except for the cluster gages at the top of the pilot panel. Late this year I am going to install a G3X , a G5 and a GFC--500 and replace the pilot panel. My question is that the ammeter show a current draw change almost constantly. It is normal ? Maybe it is telling me that I have a alternator issue? I am new to MooneySpace, I will be listing all of the stuff I removed on the site.Thanks!
